Probably the best trees at the best prices you can find online. Its a bit hard to get a hold of Lucile since shes always busy and her website isnt updated but its worth the wait if she has what youre looking for in stock. At $35 a 1g you will get large healthy trees. It helps that shes located on the west coast so that the transit times are manageable to someone in CA. I cant recommend Whitman Farms enough and will continue to buy more as she has more trees in stock

If youre looking for a tree/bush/shrub that flowers at a certain time of year, or smells like perfume, or bears fruit, start here. Lucille knows her stuff, down to the Latin names. Shes truly in awe of what Mother Nature produces & has propagated all that she loves. She tracked down the Tillamook Goumi and has domesticated & propagated this most delightful large fruited & delicious variety of goumi berries. Best selection of mulberries Ive ever seen. Hundreds more that I cant even begin to comprehend the varieties she has on hand. This farm is a true labor of love. In the Spring she offers hundreds of bare-root fruit starts. Its always good to give her a call before driving out. Now in her 8th decade, shes still a firecracker; I bet youll love her Southern accent too. She ships all over the USA, but we can stop by & meet a real legend, right here in West Salem.

Wonderful place for Japanese Maples. Huge selection and great prices. Shipping is always top notch and Lucille is a pleasure to deal with. It's best to call when ordering.

I ordered a coral lake magnolia tree to be shipped from Salem to Baltimore. I ended up receiving a tree that is over 3 feet tall in a quart container. I think there was some delays on the part of FedEx, not Luciles fault. The tree came still very moist, not overwatered though, and came out the box perfectly. A testament to the shipper. Thank you so much, Lucile! I cant wait to see the spring blossoms!
