Dean said how much better he was than other CPAs including the CPA I was with, after changing a lot in fees making many mistakes getting shuffled around to his different employees, which were new to working for him I was charged for all of it including his mistakes including filling wrong type of tax returns said he would give a large credit off the bill which he did not honor. Instead he sent a letter terminating relationship. He is very difficult to get ahold of as well as getting return call. When he finally did call back, he hung up on me and told me to do whatever I wanted so here is your review!

I initially went to see Stewart in 2022 for completion of 2022 and2023 taxes as my previous accountant had royally messed up my business and personal taxes. After charging me $900 for the first year and $500 for the second year. The 2023 taxes were initially filed on the wrong years forms, I asked the office if it would make a difference, they responded that it shouldn't as the business was closed. It did. Taxes both for IRS and OR DOR were kicked back. I wasn't notified at all and didn't find out until I called their office. After received a run around they hung up on me. I went down to their office and asked to speak with someone. I finally was told that they were fixing their errors (at least they owned up to that) and would notify me when they were complete and that they had filed an extension until 2/15/2024. I heard from them on 2/15/2024 saying that the taxes had been completed but needed to be signed for and I needed to go to their office. I told them to docu-sign the forms needed as they were due that day. They did not mention that they couldn't e-file that state when I spoke with them and mailed me a copy. Why would you mail something knowing they're due that day? Now I'll be getting a fine from the state because no one bothered to communicate with me. When I spoke to their office all they did was connect me to voicemail, which I'm still waiting to get a call back from last year so not holding my breath for any assistance. Horrible. Definately do not recommend. Save your money, go somewhere else.

I wish I was able to leave a positive review. When I initially went in for the new client consultation and met with Stewart, I was impressed with the office and the people there. I initally asked how much he charged and how long he thought it would take to prepare my business and personal taxes. I never got an answer to my question - which should have been my first clue. I received the invoice in the mail, for almost $900. That amount can cripple a small business. The invoice didn't specify or have a breakdown of why it was so much. When I called the office for clarification, I was told the tax prep took almost 5 hours. 2 hours alone to input previous years taxes into "the system." When I asked what "the system" was, I was only told their internal system. The past years filings from previous accountants took 1-2 hours. For a firm this size, I don't see how a simple return can take 5 hours.
