Emergency Room - Mercy Medical Center

I think perhaps if you have some real good insurance or deep pockets and adult witnesses with you perhaps you could have a slight chance of something besides a horrible experience here. But the odds are way stacked against everyone else.

The worst place ever. I split my forehead open and I sat there for over 3 hours and never got seen, the girls only cared about their Domino's pizza and they had nasty attitudes...none of them had any compassion for the people there.

I went into the emergency room with severe lower right abdominal pain, worried I might be starting to experience appendicitis. Luckily when my wife and I showed up there werent allot of people in the waiting room. We were triaged within the first 5 minuets of checking in and was taken back for an ultra sound shortly after. We had to go back out to the waiting room after the ultra sound due to a high number of ambulances arriving, but even though we had to continue to wait for a bed, every staff member was attentive to our needs. The main reason for this review comes after we got called back to a bed. Once again all of the staff in the back echoed the friendly attentive attitudes of the staff up front. Even though everyone was very busy, we were checked on regularly by Snowy, our nurse. And the CAT scan technician, who used to be a stand up comedian, almost made me forget why I was there regardless of the pain level. The stand out person of this whole experience however, was Doctor Jones. I can not begin to imagine what the staff must deal with on a daily basis in the ED, but Doctor Jones very naturally made us truly feel as if we were his only patients. He and Snowy worked well together to make sure my wife and I were comfortable and my pain level was managed all while ensuring he ran all tests and imaging needed to make sure I wasnt going to die. You could really tell that he genuinely wanted to be there. In the end he came in and explained to us what he thought may be wrong, and it was FAR from life threatening. Maybe sensing that I was slightly embarrassed, he reassured us that coming in was the right thing to do and to come back right away if it got worse. To sum it all up, you are all rockstars. I cant speak to any of these bad reviews on here because our experience was the total opposite. The different types of people you all must have to deal with everyday, all while being expected to maintain a good mood. Its not possible for everyone, and to be expected to do so seems unreasonable. Granted it is never okay to be rude. But we did not encounter one rude person during our visit. Thank you all so much for your care.

The woman taking care of the ER is truly sick and twisted. My sister was in a serious accident and they dont care about her pain.

I wish I had read in the reviews on this place before I went there. The greeters at the front desk are less than helpful. Make you feel like an inconvenience just for walking up to the window. I will not go back to this place and you shouldnt either.
