Heidi operates an amazing rescue. She does have EXTREMELY high standards for homes her dogs go into - for a reason. She rescues very large dogs - Mastiffs - and these dogs, when not properly contained and trained- because they are extremely protective of their people and property!! can be dangerous. It's what they are meant to do - its their job - so you need to have proper containment of the dog, you need to have them properly trained and you need to be home you can just turn them loose and wander away. If these dogs bite someone, because of their size it can be extremely dangerous for the person and it will mean the dog will be put down. Yes, Heidi has extremely high standards for who will adopt these dogs, it's because she is extremely responsible. Anyone who disparages her for doing so, has no idea what these dogs are capable of and you would not want to be on their property with these dogs loose wandering around. Anyone who is not willing to abide by her standards, should not own a mastiff. Owning a mastiff is a huge responsibility. You can see responsible owners on YouTube. The Owners of Bruce Wayne have the same standards- it's all over the internet- you CANNOT just own a mastiff willy nilly, it's a HUGE responsibility and people NEED to recognize that. Unprofessional organization. Heidi, the owner/operator, readily resorts to petty name calling instead of respectful discourse. 10/10 do not recommend.

typical rescue that takes dogs in from a shelter but then would rather keep them than find them homes unless a completely unrealistic list of prerequisites is met. list of prerequisites that wasn't good enough: -home owner on completely fenced (with heavy gauge wire) 5 acres -working mastiff dog owner that actively works and trains mastiffs in high levels of obedience 2-3 times a day, tracking work 3-4 times a week, and protection work once a week -I only work 6 days out of 14 (yes I have 8 days off every 2 weeks) lots of time to be with my dogs -having a family that is also interested and trains dogs -dogs in my house are kept where ever the people are -dogs are only crated as needed approx 2-4 hours a day -financially stable to handle all dog costs to include food, meds, vet care, etc -I do not support breed specific legislation
