Holly's photography captures the sweetness, the beauty & the details of life. She dedicated the time to spend a whole day in New Orleans for our engagement photos and flew back for our wedding day seven months later. With her comforting communication, she allowed us to find relaxation in front of the camera. She's able to find those in-between moments during a session...the ease of holding hands, the soft kiss atop the head, the emerging smile of being close to one another. It was incredibly special to have someone cement these occasions through such thoughtful photography and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We were so, so happy with Holly as our wedding photographer. We knew we wanted photos that felt natural, authentic and loving. I was confident at every step that Holly would nail it, and she did. Hollys photos came out beautifully, a perfect memory of that day. Holly is deeply thoughtful in her preparation. She worked to understand our vision not only for the photos themselves, but for how we wanted to remember that day. When the day finally arrived, Holly was amazing with my husband and I, as well as with our guests. She is kind and gentle, but can also command a room to get your perfect group shot. It was the perfect energy balance. I loved that during all the family photos, she would ask us to think about or share a memory together. It was such a sweet detail that made even the time posing for photos feel like special moment. We look back at the photos often and truly couldnt be happier!

We found Holly when we were looking for a photographer in the Portland area who had a natural style and shot a lot of film. As soon as we found her, we stopped our search. She photographed two events for us: our intimate marriage ceremony, and our still-pretty-small family celebration a few months later. We truly couldnt be happier with both the photos and the experience with Holly! Hollys warmth and genuine love for her work shone through as soon as we met her honestly, we immediately wanted to be her friend! She went above and beyond to help us plan our ceremony and come up with a timeline. Plus, she totally rolled with it when we decided to change our timing at the last minute! When she shared some preview photos literally *hours* after the ceremony, we were delighted with how sweetly shed captured us. And she did an incredible job photographing our low-key family celebration as well! She had a knack for making everyone feel at ease, and the photos she captured felt like such true representations of the day. When she sent the final gallery, every single photo was beautiful. Needless to say, were already recommending Holly to everyone we know!

We're over the moon about the way our wedding photos turned out, and we're grateful that we decided to go with Holly Hursley as our photographer! She seamlessly blended film and digital to create a truly special batch of photos. Our favorites are the portraits that she captured at the golden hour, we both look better than we actually do :) Planning a wedding can be stressful and through it all, Holly helped keep things calm and was therefore able to capture some really special and genuine moments of the wedding. She did a great job at mingling throughout the party and got many perfect candid photos of all the guests who were in attendance. Although wedding photography can end up being a substantial portion of the overall budget, it's well worth the cost to hire Holly, as the photos are a tangible reminder of our special day. We will treasure the photos for a lifetime!
