SKIP THIS PLACE, PLEASE! I rescued my cherished mother from abusive circumstances at Calaroga which were widespread--- not isolated to her. Our most vulnerable loved ones deserve that we do our homework above and beyond as we search for the right place, and that once admitted, we remain involved and vigilant to ensure that they are residing in a comfortable, healthy, inspiring, loving, nurturing, personalized, respectful, safe, secure, and well-managed environment. The latter does exist, so do your homework.

Want to give a shout out to Debby Beer at Calaroga Terrace. She helped us coordinate a move for a friend after his assisted living facility was closed unexpectedly, which made finding a new place for him to live immediately necessary. Debby was a dream to work with and made his transition to Calaroga Terrance as smooth as could be. She loves what she does, is professional, knowledgeable, and is truly passionate about helping the residents of and newcomers to her facility. We feel so lucky to have had Debby on our side during this upsetting time in our friend's life. I cannot recommend her highly enough if you are looking to place a senior in an assisted living or independent living facility.

Was great before the management changed to Nile Living mid 2023. Now run entirely for profit at the expense of the residents. Completely terrible and the executive director is a truly evil person. Services are promised and not furnished, then other charges will show up randomly taken out of the residents bank account with no warning and they will not reverse them. Food is awful, staff is limited and the garage isn't secure. They stole over $500 from us in "guest meals" that they made up and stole it directly from my mom's bank account.

I love working at Calaroga Terrace! There is something special about this place! It mixes heritage and modernism. Its the most accepting, inclusive and welcoming community I have ever been to. The residents are so diverse and wonderful, and our team respects residents preferences and desires trying to keep them as independent as they want, while safe and healthy. Is it an easy job? Absolutely not! But we listen and care for our residents and their loved ones with the upmost respect in their best days and their toughest ones. We support our colleagues with patience and curiosity, but some days feel easier than others. We connect with family members and friends during the most fun moments, as well as the serious conversations that are never easy but bring clarity. All I am saying is, I am proud of being part of a team of very good hearted people who keep their doors and minds open, and understand that although not perfect, we are deeply committed to humbly and consciously improve ourselves: a smile, a connection and a day at time. This community is amazing!
