Healthy Starts Children's Center at OHSU

Very abusive staff.

Our kids have been in the Healthy Starts toddler program for the past 4 months. Overall we're very happy with the center. This is the first daycare our kids have gone to and after about a month of adjustment they are doing well there. Sometimes when we pick them up they don't want to leave and most mornings they don't fuss when we drop them off. All the staff seem to be genuine in their interaction with the children. The staff will regularly talk to you about something your child did that day. Sometimes you get pictures through their Tadpoles app. It may seem like a big center, but all the staff (i.e. the other classrooms teachers, assistants, and directors) will know and greet your children by name and everyone there is very welcoming and friendly. All meals and snacks are provided (although we bring lunch substitutions 25% of the time due to dietary restrictions). They have a large in-door playground which is great during the winter months when its raining and cold outside, and will be great in the summer when you don't want your kids in the sun for too long. For the toddlers they have lots of "art" projects and activities planned out to keep the kids engaged, so you know they're doing something a little bit different each day.

Great daycare from my perspective. Daughter seems to love her teachers, they seem to care about her. Open later than most daycares which works well for my work schedule!

Fantastic place. Kids are engaged and happy. Wonderful teachers and a great space made this our #1 choice to take care of our kiddos.
