Sunstone Montessori School

I have heard many wonderful things about this school and the staff. From all accounts, it appears top notch and worthy of high praise.

We are new to Sunstone and have been super impressed. Our some went through the summer program and just started the school year. It's a beautiful school, great administration, and the program design seems on point. We are excited to see how it plays out for our 4 year old :)

i went here through second grade and it was amazing. i absolutely loved my time in the camassia room (grades 1-3). highly recommend this school!

Our 2 year old daughter attended Montessori for the entire summer session of 2020. One week before the 2020-2021 school year was going to begin, we were told she no longer had a spot in the Huckleberry classroom. The administration informed us that another child decided to come back and therefore our daughter lost her spot in the classroom. We were told we were chosen since we were the last ones to enroll. However, we had signed up for a spot a year prior and started the same time as 3 other students. When asked for documentation that our daughter was the last to enroll the head of school admitted that there were other reasons that went into this decision. This was an unfair, unethical and unprofessional action taken by the Sunstone administration. Due to COVID, our daughter had been home with us for the 4 months prior to starting back at school, so the transition was especially rough for her. The staff was not understanding of this and immediately labeled her as a difficult child with attachment issues and recommended we pay a significant amount of money to consult with a Montessori expert in Colorado. She was successful at her previous daycare and is now doing great at her new school with absolutely no problems after the teachers adjusted to her needs during the initial transition. This was not the case at Sunstone.
