Though I tend to become very frustrated with their schedule constantly full and battle with my self wether I think they've done all they can or not, I do have to say they have always been friendly, inter Sophia French was a wonderful Dr. While we had her. I'm very thankful for how kind and caring she was, she explained things very clearly and made sure to answer any and all questions.

I go to doernbecher for Psychiatry and also have a sleep doctor there. They are so nice and are straight forward when talking to me. They are so kind and Dr.Kim Mckenna and Dr. Lana Weber (Psychiatrists) are so amazing and supportive!

My sons have been patients at ohsu since my oldest was born over 12 years ago. Just out of the blue at the end of last school year, while trying to make an appointment I'm informed they can no longer be seen there. Something to do with out-of-network. The woman who I'm speaking with at the clinic was extremely rude and wouldn't explain it further than that. I literally had been in the office a month prior for a well-child exam where all 3 of my boys were seen, but now they aren't allowed. I call back because my son doesn't feel well and she (the same woman as before) says "fine I'll just make the appointment because you won't listen" I received a message from mychart saying it's made and I go about my day. I call in the following Monday to double-check check time to be there and the appointment was canceled by the supervisor THE SAME DAY IT WAS MADE. I've never been treated this way in the hospital. I used to refer people to them. Defend the entire hospital to people I'm friends with. I won't anymore though. I wish I didn't have to be seen there for specialties. It's really sad how far the staff has fallen since I was a child.

Not sure where I should start with this review. I understand there's several moving pieces at a doctors office, so I like to be as understanding and patient as possible as I appreciate all the hard work medical professionals invest in our community, especially at a time like this. However, our experience with OHSU pediatrics was less than ideal. We were referred to Dr. Antwon Chavis by multiple friends, so we decided to establish care with OHSU since he had transitioned there. We had several friends who had Dr. Chavis when he was at his previous office and have heard nothing but wonderful things. Since OHSU is close to our house, we decided to try him out despite the fact that he was at a new clinic. I'm sure he is incredible, but we never had the chance to meet him in our 2 months at this clinic. OHSU has a residency program, so our first couple of appointments were with residents. They were all extremely professional and friendly and I have no complaints with the doctors themselves. My issue was with the system/procedures themselves. Since they are trying to expose their residents to as many patients as possible, we would see several doctors in one visit. This was completely overwhelming with a newborn as our first two appointments went close to 90 minutes long. They would have multiple doctors come in at different times and they would essentially ask the same questions every time. I get it- they have a procedure and they need practice, but this is not realistic with a newborn. If you have one, you know how challenging it is going to the doctors and timing feeds, etc. There's nothing like trying to calm your baby down while also answering the same question for a 3rd time to a new doctor. Especially because they're casual wellness appointment questions, such as "how is he sleeping?" "how are you doing?" It was redundant and exhausting. In addition to this, the front desk crew was less than pleasant to deal with. They were always unorganized and miscommunicated important information. Scheduling was also a pain. Finally, the breaking point was when I called the front desk prior to my son's 8 week appointment. I know their COVID policies had changed, so called them to ask about the new policies. They informed me that only one parent was able to come to the appointment since he was older than 6 weeks. 6 weeks... 8 weeks.. Does it really make a difference? If anything, you should have both parents available at the 8 week wellness appointment since that is the first appointment with all of the vaccinations. It was also the first appointment that we were FINALLY going to meet our doctor and it would be nice if my husband could come along as well. However, I get it, they don't make the rules. What really made me upset was when I asked the lady at the front desk if the parent had to be fully vaccinated to attend the appointment. I did not think to immediately inform her that I was a week from being fully vaccinated as it's not necessarily her business, nor relevant. I was just looking for a yes or no answer. However, she assumed that I wasn't interested in a vaccine and went on a rant about how it's important to be vaccinated, how I should be, and that she can schedule me an appointment to get one. I was completely caught off guard by her approach as well as how much her tone changed. She went from being helpful to being extremely disrespectful and rude. I understand these are trying times, but she didn't even take a second to ask what my vaccination status was. Instead, she made an assumption that I was perhaps against the vaccine and wanted to prove a point. At that point, we decided to change doctors offices. As much as we would have loved the opportunity to work with Dr. Chavis, everything else was enough to make us change clinics. I am only giving 2 stars based on the fact that the doctors/residents' themselves were all pleasant and wonderful to deal with. However, the system and the front desk crew is a significant aspect of a clinic as you directly deal with them the majority of the time.
