Ahmed Raslan, M.D., F.A.A.N.S.

I was referred to Dr. Raslan for explantation of a poorly functioning Spinal Cord Stimulator. The plan was to remove the device, MRI my full spine to decide the appropriate new device. After that decision and intention to proceed, it took a further 1 1/2 YEARS to complete the surgery. That surgery resulted in L heel pain I never experienced previously. During that 1 1/2 YEAR delay, other Neurosurgeons would not help me as Dr Raslan had already begun treatment. Catch 22 for me! I could not get anyone in Dr Raslan's office to reply to any message. I never received one communication why the delay. OHSU Patient Relations were appalling and pathetic. They couldn't have cared less. When I finally met with Dr. Raslan, he blamed office staff and stated: 'you're persistent. Most people give up on us'. What a professional statement from a Physician who broke his oath by delaying care. PS OHSU never bothered to answer my written formal complaint. I believe in karma!

Dr. Raslan has performed several surgeries on me all of them giving me greater quality of life. A handful of the operations / surgeries were not initially covered by my insurance That did not stop Dr. Raslan, he wrote letters on my behalf explaining why exactly they needed to accept this as fact. He would always tell me that he would make it (the procedure) happen with or without the insurance. Dr. Raslan is a very pragmatic doctor, he wants to know what makes you tick, what your hobbies are he really takes the time to get to know you as a person not just a patient.

Dr. Raslan is an attentive and warmhearted physician who truly cares about the wellbeing of his patients. He came highly recommeded when my daughter needed care, and there couldn't have been better hands for her to be in. We are so grateful for his care, knowledge, experience, and passion for his work. We will continue forever with his care!
