Keys to the City Locksmith

I was looking for a replacement skeleton key for an old piece of furniture. that was my mother's. I contacted a local locksmith who was brusque and unhelpful. City Locksmith (Valerie?) on the other hand, was unsure if they could help, but were quite friendly and helpful and outlined a plan of action and described what they could do. We will use them for other work based on this initial encounter.

Alex arrived same day that I called! She was efficient, friendly, and got to business! She rekeyed 4 locks in less than an hour! Hey, y'all support female owned businesses! I have one and we all need to stick together!

I had spent hours trying to get a simple skeleton key lock on an office cabinet open.  Alex figured it out in ten minutes.  Very pleasant to deal with and no complaint about her pricing on that job.She recommended installing a deadbolt on our front door and said it would be $175.  Not "$175 for labor plus the cost of the lock".  $175.  She installed the lock later and then said it would be $245 -- $175 plus $70 for the lock.  And she said she was waiving the fee for the visit as if that was a favor.  The lock costs $35 at Home Depot.  So now I am not feeling so great about this company.  If I was positive this was a case of bait and switch I would give a lower rating, but hopefully this was just a communication problem.
