Walking into the Kex on 3/28 was a joy unparalleled. CJ not only extended warmth, but quickly attended to our whim, and only served to further our delight. She not only had the snappiest sweater, but generously made our special occasion more comfortable. Excellence is frequently unmet. And CJ meets every aspect in the capabilities of hospitality. Thank you CJ. You made the night special. Noteworthy details: Yay!

Portland is becoming a pretty hostile place. KEX, as corporate as it gets, wants $15 for every hour past 11am. No hooks or anywhere in the rooms to even hang a towel, yet they charge more than Ace per night. This is a creepy surveillance hotel with abandoned rooms everywhere with staff always going in and out of them, they don't give you any amenities (or even a bathroom) and are expecting market rates per night. Don't ever stay here. At least at a chain hotel you get service, a gym, a bathroom and a late checkout if you need it. Most hotels will do that for you no problem. Doesn't cost them anything. All I got at KEX was attitude and creepy vibes.

Bella was an amazing help! She was friendly & patient & made sure all of my needs were met. She shared being a new hire but her performance was outstanding, this girl deserves a raise! Food & drinks: The Pacific Standard cocktail was to die for. & the chicken sandwich is YUM!

First time staying here but it won't be my last. Booked because I had to detour and hunker down to ride out the pending ice storm. Check in experience was excellent beginning with Emma? Emily? who took my call and thoughtfully advised me on best parking options; then Sophia at check in, and Rachel at check out. 201 was a really spacious room with large window high ceilings and a great sense of vintage decor. Check out the mini refrigerator in the clip below, and also the radio that actually works, and the style of the lamps by the bed. Absolutely beautiful marbling in the bathroom and shower areas, and truly very comfortable bed. Some of the rooms apparently are sharing a bathroom so I would highly recommend paying a little extra to have your own bathroom. The king ensuite I had was fantastic. Extremely comfortable bed. One of their best features: a private sauna. Just book your appointment as part of your stay -- they hand you the key and up to an hour of great heat is yours. There's a Lounge area on the main that is handicap accessible...and the Pacific Standard is open for drinks and food until a very decent city hour -- past 11 PM -- perfect place to weather the ice storm. Really the best place to stay in Portland. Rooms: Honestly the best part of the experience. The king size bed was truly, truly comfortable. The immediate feeling walking into was that it was very well-groomed room. Turn on the radio because it's not just decoration. And the music it was set on was excellent. I have no idea if there are other channels because I didn't even want to change it. Lovely to see water in a bottle, less plastic. Something very pragmatic, intelligent, beautiful, and comfortable about the room. Safety: Front desk is by the door and they have 24 hour staff at the desk. Also no one is getting in after hours, or getting into the elevators up to the rooms, without an access card. A nice feeling of security. Food & drinks: Read my review of Pacific Standard. Our service was exemplary. Cocktails were excellent. The whiskey sour is what you want to order. It's pretty magnificent. Repartee between bartender and customers was genuine and enjoyable to observe. Dishes were well/priced. Noteworthy details: They have a private sauna experience. Make sure you book time.

Hey there Trevor, Thank you for staying with us and for sharing this feedback. We are sorry that your stay with us was anything less than perfect and I'd like to take a moment to address your concerns. We want to ensure that every guest has a warm and welcoming stay and it is a surprising disappointment to hear that that wasn't the case as we are typically heralded for our wonderful guest services.Firstly, I was able to look up your reservation and saw that you stayed in one of our recently renovated rooms and it does appear that our contractor neglected to hang hooks. We will fix that immediately and I apologize for the inconvenience. While our late check out fee is market norm, we do waive it from time to time for special circumstances or just to make someone's day. We are also happy to hang onto guest luggage in our luggage room free of charge while you go about your day. We are unable to grant every late check out request as we must allow plenty of time between departure and arrival so our housekeeping team is able to expertly clean the room for the next guest. I'm unsure what is meant by abandoned rooms and I can assure you that if our team is going into any vacant rooms, that would be for cleaning and inspection purposes or perhaps for maintenance and repairs. We have no abandoned rooms and our team is not using rooms for any type of surveillance. I'm very sorry that that was a point of concern. I would also like to apologize that you weren't made aware of our amenities, such as: complimentary coffee and tea every morning, complimentary toiletries, complimentary WiFi, a complimentary sauna and guest lounges on each floor. I will follow up with our team to ensure that everyone is clearly communicating with our guests upon arrival so everyone is able to enjoy these offerings. It sounds like we dropped the ball during your stay in a few ways and I will make sure that doesn't happen again. We hope you return for a wonderful experience next time you're in town! Best wishes, Elli BlakemanGeneral Manager KEX Portland
