After years of slipping through cracks and falling off lists, IOP staff treated me like a human being, with value, as the first priority. Bureaucracy, forms, and questionnaires werent nearly as important to them as my safety, and my concerns, and it was amazing to feel more important to someone than routine. Thank you, all. Especially Selena. Thank you. After decades of surviving, I can sincerely say I have hope there is a way to have the balanced life. Thank you.

This place is a joke. They have one therapist for a 30 person group. You're better off just getting self help books from the library.

This program has poor communication across the board, I went in initially to begin the intake process since Im in need of services and I was met with uncertainty. I was not able to get in touch with their business office for over a week since I was seeking information regarding what my out of pocket would be and I refused to sign any financial forms until I spoke to their business office. I asked where their restrooms were and I was told where the mens facilities were, I asked if there were restrooms that were gender specific, people were confused by my question (not a trauma informed response), and so they asked around. I used there bathroom that they use for UAs (so to answer my own question they do not have gender neutral restrooms). This program wasnt a fit for me based upon my interactions with the workers there, and they also treated their front receptionist pretty rudely which I also did not like because it obviously makes you think about how they treat their clients.

Im a 10 year veteran of mental health hell, needed new tools and to hear Im not alone. Im a fixed income person on disability with 2 kids. I was booted from the program, out of nowhere, in mid August when I was told Id be there through September. Pressing never got me an actual date, but it was a while away so didnt push the issue. As is the case with most severely mentally affected people, parents, people who need money and those who have other appointments-I missed time. Every, single time I missed, I asked in advance and was told it was approved leave. Then out of nowhere, I got a call basically asking for a review of the program then be on my way. I was in shock. She stated that i was ONLY going 3 hours a day and I should have missed less. BUT, I was told I was reaching great insight and gaining ground by being in group.. I obviously was being successful with the program and then the booted me anyway. All they cared to do was ask if I was suicidal and safe; my response was literally I dont know, you just dropped a bomb on me. She just pressed until she got an answer she wanted to avoid liability if I took myself out. In reality, at check in, I asked for help making a safety plan and was told Id learn in group. Never happened; but they make sure you SAY you have one in every, single meeting. I was also lectured about politics far different from mine regarding drugged homeless people who just want to be homeless and dont want help. Direct quote and that my rent wasnt any higher in my city than where her city was. Like it matters on fixed income anyways.. The first prescriber I had decide in 1-10 min phone call that my diagnosis was a wrong; disagreeing with 10 years with many, many different highly qualified providers. Then she disappeared. They gave me a new one, Mary, who was the best part of the entire program. I say this because I only saw her 2X and she STILL surpassed every interaction with anyone else. I wanted help. I wanted to be successful. I was doing my best, following rules (except for one day I fell asleep during a video because I was up with a sick kid all night and, for anxiety, had taken medication. I tried to contribute, be honest (which was very difficult due to a massive lack of trust with the facilitator and group) and be self reflective. My point is, it may very well be helpful for some people. It COULD have maybe been amazing for me. But it ended because of money and a series of massive judgments regarding my time. I really wanted it to help. To work. To be helpful. It almost was, and then it wasnt.
