image Just finished up my time at the Aesthetics Institute and I absolutely loved it. The staff & instructors are so knowledgeable and beyond helpful. They are always willing to help and answer questions and they do their best to make learning enjoyable. I had an amazing experience and honestly cant even imagine going to another school. I plan on returning in a couple years to continue my education for advance aesthetics.

image I did a lot of research about different schools in the area, and I'm so glad that I went to Aesthetic Institute. It is a little more expensive compared to other schools, but the knowledge the teachers pour out onto the students is far greater than other schools. The teachers are very friendly and make learning fun. I loved how personable each staff member was. I did full-time, and it was a blast getting to know other full-time and part-time students. Whenever I had a question, they would always provide the best information to help you for your future. I also loved the support I got from each teacher because I tend to be more anxious, and they would always support and calm me down in stressful situations. I am definitely planning to come back to do the advanced program and learn more to expand my knowledge in the esthetics world.

image I absolutely loved my experience at The Aesthetic Institute of Portland! Ive always loved skincare and when I decided to pursue that passion of mine, AI of Portland was the school I kept coming back to when I was deciding. The staff is so wonderful and I am so grateful I got so close to the teachers while I was there. Im happy they offered a part-time program. Most schools only offer full-time and when I need to keep working in order to pay for my schooling, I knew part-time was the way to go! I also love that I can go back to school anytime to complete my advanced program if I choose to do so! Plus, when I started my own business right after graduation, I was able to go back and purchase all the back bar product I needed to start my business. Im so lucky I picked AI of Portland!

Coco! Thank you for this very kind review! We are glad we were able to offer an attendance option that worked with your schedule. We are firm believers in helping students be able to attend our school by offering a variety of in-person schedules. We are so proud of the work you are doing in Vancouver and we are happy to see you when you stop in to buy products. Hope to see you soon!

image I went to the Aesthetics Institute in 2022-2023, and had a great experience. The amount of information, tools, resources, and knowledge from the teachers, really helped me excel in the program. I would say being a full time student really helps with gaining more hands on experience, and Im really happy I made the decision to be full time. Being full time also allows more one on one training with the instructors. Due to the amount of one on one training I had, I felt as if I was very confident in all of my abilities and not afraid to take clients, practice on other students, even practice on the teachers. Fast forward to now, Im working my dream esthetics job and still communicate with some of my instructors often. In particular, I express tons of gratitude towards Jade, who really pushed me in school and challenged me to break out of some of my comfort zones. Overall, I had a great time at the school, met so many friends, and gained lots of knowledge thats helped me in my current workplace.

image Ive been a client & an unhappy parent of a student.
As a former client, I feel money is much better spent else where as theyre students, the service isnt usually very thorough & you end up needing a lot more appointments because of it. Such asthey arent too experienced with laser & settings & as another review mentioned start extremely low/tend to stay there several appointments when you could go somewhere more experienced & get it done quicker, less pain, more thorough, & less expense. They also had no head wraps one laser appointment (said needed to order new ones) & burnt a huge patch of my front hairline that wont grow back I had a big bald spot on side of hairline for many months.
As far as a parent of a student who attends, the glitz & looks of the program really interested my child so I agreed. However, its extremely expensive for the lack of thoroughness. Program policies I absolutely do NOT agree with like all students must leave building every lunch/no exceptions & my child is a minor who doesnt drive & its in a rough area (the things we see on our drive to & from there each day are anxiety filled w/the amount of homelessness & questionable behavior of those all over the streets) & shes forced to go outside for an hour/they lock the doors/cant use restroom & rain or shineas a minor, with no car, no safe place to be except they advise to go to a surrounding business my MINOR isnt ALLOWED on the sketchy streets nearby! I dont even walk on Portland creepy streets no way! I pay $2400 the 1st of every month to worry each day if shes ok/warm/etc. NEVER have I been in an employment or school setting where there was no break/common area while the staff are in there warm & safe w/doors locked.
The curriculum isnt worth spending almost double than other institutes either. The copy & paste tests they use are online. The tests dont match the covered readings. Several of the required materials are still coming in mailwheres the thoroughness, proper planning, preparedness? & the second phase is going up an extra $1000 next year LOL good riddens!

Hello Jessica, and thank you for your feedback. First and foremost, we are a school, and when teaching any new skill set to our hard-working students, it is imperative for us to ensure they are learning how to perform services in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines for safe and effective treatments. We proudly stand behind all of our safety procedures and the resulting services our students provide to our clients, such as yourself. We are sad to hear you were not satisfied with your student treatment, and we hope to serve you better in the future. Our primary responsibility is to make sure that students develop safe, consistent, and result-oriented outcomes that protect both the technician and the client alike. Ensuring that our students feel secure in their skills upon becoming licensed estheticians will always be our utmost goal as an educational institution. We price our services accordingly to account for the potential treatment time frame a conservative treatment plan may possibly add to the client’s desired results. Regarding our school policies, in particular to our campus during the lunch hour, we are abundantly clear about this policy prior to enrollment, at new student orientation, in the student handbook, and again as students prepare to come in-house for their hands-on training after completing the online portion of their course. As to your concerns about our curriculum, we have had the privilege of providing a high-quality and professional-level education to over 2000 incredibly talented students in the Portland area for the past 40 years. We always appreciate feedback about our curriculum and exams as they continue to evolve and change each year based on lesson updates, services taught, and best practices in the esthetics industry.
