Great place to shop if you want armed gunmen ready to blow your brains out just in case you think someone should be allowed to eat tonight, they flash their pistols at me every time I walk into the store despite literally showing them receipts.

There is no need to stress. There is no need to be mean. There is no need for you to put yourself in a bad mood over someone you see once a month, customer service. Stay humble. The world can be so beautiful if you see if that way. There is no need to be negative.

This Fred Meyer location and the St. John's seem locked in a battle for worst store in Portland. First it started with purposefully understaffing check out lanes to force customers to self-checkout, so if you have a large amount of items you must sit in line. And now this store have gates to herd customers like cattle in and out of the store, a security guard who pretends to do something by writing on your receipt and you cannot take cosmetics out of that dept without paying for them. Because who can trust customers with sunscreen or face lotion? Guilty until proven innocent. This is now my most avoided store that I only go when really necessary. The employees are nice, it's really a management issue.

Bryon is incredible. Truly a genuine guy that always puts his best foot forward and seems to take pride in his job. Hes personable, efficient and is always quick to help with bagging. There are a ton of amazing employees at this location but Bryon is the MVP. 5/5. Nora is exceptional, too. Fred Meyer Mgmt, can we please get some help bagging from cashiers and courtesy clerks? I say this objectively, the biggest con of this location is receiving little to no help with bagging. Most cashiers dont even bother. I think everyone can agree that its frustrating to bag $200 worth of groceries by yourself when theres a line of people behind you, and you still need to pay. Even more so when you see an elderly person not receiving the extra assistance they need. A little help would go a long way for everyone.
