        I hired John Macleod and MKE for some structural engineering several years ago when I was partnered with NWCS. John gave me a firm estimate to complete the drawings at the beginning of the project and it was understood that we would need to recover those hard costs with our client. What John delivered and promised was far different from the proposal cost given upfront (and in writing). We were blindsided at the end of the project with nearly 3k above his proposal. Additionally, there were some discrepancies in the plans drafted and stamped that led us to hire a different engineering firm to complete. MKEs handling of this project was very disappointing and in the end, downright criminal. Do not trust them in any way. I work with multiple contractors and superintendents and continue to spread the word about my experience with MKE. If you need engineering or plan drawings, choose a local more reputable company. MKE doesnt even deserve one star.
