Paulette Selman Advocacy

If I could rate 10 stars, I would. I have struggled navigating the special needs education system for 10+ years. I wish I would have hired Paulette from the beginning. She is thorough, knowledgeable, supportive, and an incredible asset to parent support. The IEP she helped me with is the best IEP my child has ever had. She had ideas and suggestions that I was unaware of, she knows the state laws and can get you what your child is legally eligible for. Highly recommend to anyone that needs help navigating the system, has questions on services, or just needs someone in their corner. She is now an imperative part of my team.

Paulette has been instrumental in our understanding of our daughter's educational requirements. She gives us plain language interpretations of our daughter's school's various reports. Without Paulette, we would not have known what to advocate for.

We reached out to Paulette at a time when our family was so frustrated, and we felt like the school environment was so unsafe, that we had actually pulled my son from school all together. Paulette's strengths lie in her ability to communicate calmly with anyone. Whether it was calming me down after a very frustrating meeting, or facing down a screaming principle coming at her during a contentious zoom meeting, Paulette always kept her cool and kept her eye on the prize, the best possible education for my very special son. I was ready to pull my kid permanently and shell out thousands of dollars for private school, and with Paulette's help he not only got back into the classroom, and is primed to finishe kindergarten on time, but I was able to keep him in place and enrolled so he didn't lose his charter eligibility. I fully believe that without her help, my son would not have the future opportunities that he has now. These public schools are not on your side. I thought I could do it, I thought I could trust them I thought I didn't need help. I was wrong. Paulette is amazing. I've referred her to my friends and now I'm here, telling the world that she is worth every penny. She literally saved our family.

Paulette has been an amazing resource for our family and working with her has exceeded our expectations. She drew on her significant experience in schools and as an advocate to understand our concerns and confusion, answer questions, and advise on how to work through challenging discussions with the school team. Paulette has also helped us understand how to connect recommendations from outside providers (OT) to the school setting and helped us set realistic, positive expectations for our situation. We've spent so much less time worrying and being confused since working with Paulette. We would recommend her to anyone looking for an advocate.
