I have lived in this neighborhood on NW Naito since 2013, and have frequented this convenience store pretty much weekly for all the things I would rather just pay more to walk a block for (ie toilet paper, ice-cream, wine etc!) than get in the car & travel all the way to Fred Meyer or Safeway for. The old owners were just lovely for the eight plus years they were there. It seems the store is now under new ownership, and my experiences going there since have a been just plain awful. The family that run it now are unfriendly at best, verging on utterly rude at worse. There is a lovely elderly gentleman in the family who sits with a cane on plastic chair in the aisles and he has returned my smile and greeting of hello when I see him. Everyone else that works there has just conpletely blanked me. The older woman with grey hair & glasses I have encountered behind the register is the rudest to me of all. The first time I entered the store after this new family took over, I grabbed my items, walked up to the counter, said hello to her (she flat out ignored this), then just stood at the counter for about a minute and a half with all my items in my arms whilst she continued to ignore me conpletely, put stickers on bottles of wine etc etc. I mean, just utterly ignoring me standing there with ten things loaded up in my arms waiting to pay. She would not speak to me whilst ringing me up, she would not tell me the total amount due, and she did not at any point offer me a bag for all the items I was juggling. It was incredibly rude and passive aggressive. No matter. I've neen wanting to cut down on my "I'm too lazy to drive somewhere to buy it for three bucks less" spending, and this woman solved that predicament for me in two minutes flat. I will not be taking my business here any more. I'll drive the two minutes to Safeway instead. Interestingly, my visits to the store under the previous owners have always involved waiting in line to be served, because it was always very busy with people lining up to buy cigarettes, alcohol etc etc. It used to be a really busy store, because of all the renters at The Yards apartments and condo owners at McCormick etc, plus all the vehicle traffic on Naito. I used to run into my neigbors in the store all the fime. The store has always been pretty muchempty lately, which I can honestly only attribute to the fact everyone else finds the new family that owns it rude as hell too. Either way, Safeway here I come.

Im a wheelchair user who was just kicked out of the store with my service dog in training. The cashier decided He wasnt a service dog because he was sniffing the floor. When I explained that he is a young dog in training, and still learning, I was asked to provide identification, that he was a service animal, which is illegal under the American with Disabilities Act. I will be speaking to a lawyer about this incident.

I've lived in the apartments down the street for over three years now and the owners of this store are leeches of the community.. Update: 3 years later I'm still in the same apartment, & I've realized the younger Asian guys are cool but the older Asian men that work here are racist as hell towards African American men! 6 weeks ago (mid Aug) I had a complete left knee replacement & recently got a E-scooter to get around, I have a handicapped placard & was turned around at the door immediately with the typical "u NO shop here!" & wouldn't let me explain that my scooter is personally mine & I'm currently handicapped...
