In 2022 I brought my daughters two cars there for timing belt replacement on Subaru and a clutch and flywheel replacement on a civic si. All seemed good until the civics clutch replacement. My daughter noticed more vibration at idle and when ac was used. When we brought it back for the vibration issue they diagnosed it as a cracked or broken engine Mount. We held off on that job. Fast forward to current time, the civic was barely used because of vibration until I recently took it to another shop to have them change out all engine mounts. As soon as they got car on a lift they called to say all mounts appeared solid with no cracks, mounts all good. They did loosen all mounts to adjust motor, balancing motor, then retightened all mounts. Vibration issue solved. The mgr at Garys had told me that they had done something to keep exhaust from banging on floor pan. (We didnt ask for that). According to my new shop what they did was loosen all mounts and tilt engine forward to make exhaust drop down. This so called tilt caused the entire car to vibrate. All they did when we brought it back was claim it was a broken mount and suggest replacing all mounts at a very high labor cost. I will never go back to this shop, they seemed honest and reliable but they caused more issues then they solved. Response to shops response: I never said exhaust was dragging on ground in Driveway. It was sometimes banging on floorpans. Biggest complaint is that when we brought it back, they Insisted it was a cracked or broken motor mount, when that was not the case. It was the fact that they moved the motor forward on its mounts misaligning motor making vibration worse.
