THE NEIGHBORS & THE NOISE: Within a week of moving in to Terrace Glen, I was being kept awake all hours of the night by an upstairs neighbor partaking in loud nightly activities: constant stomping and thumping, loud crashes, banging against the wall, jumping up and down, metal objects being repeatedly dropped and rolling across the floor - always coming from the corner of their bedroom directly above where I slept. One night they paced back and forth from 8pm to 5am nonstop except for a 1 hour break between 2 and 3 am in which I caught 1 hour of sleep before they woke me with a giant crash and started in on the pacing again. I must have sent between 15 and 20 texts and emails documenting the noise at the time it was happening in great detail - always in the middle of the night or early morning - and Terrace Glen only replied to one text and one email. I called up the new manager to discuss the situation with her and she completely blew me off - showing zero compassion, concern, or interest - she just kept repeating over and over that corporate was dealing with it. I spoke to corporate and they told me Terrace Glen was handling it. Very poor communication all around. Even after moving my bed to the living room they were still so loud that they woke me up from the noise they were making in their bedroom. I was only averaging a few hours of sleep a night, had to start taking anti-anxiety meds, and developed PTSD and high blood pressure. In addition to the ongoing issues with my upstairs neighbor, I also shared a wall with a dog that barked, whined, and kicked VERY loudly and repeatedly against a door or window between the hours of 11pm and 8:30am nearly every night. I could hear it reverberate through the wall like a small earthquake and there was no way in heck to sleep even with my ear plugs in. Another neighbor I shared a wall with consistently pumped their bass through the wall. The whole experience was like living in a college dorm. I had waited so long to get into affordable housing and it had turned into an utter nightmare. Living at Terrace Glen completely wrecked me mentally, emotionally, and physically. MINOR APARTMENT ISSUES: The bathroom has an extremely bright built in night light that you can not turn off and a fan that runs loudly nonstop. In theory, the fan is a good idea as it keeps the bathroom dry - however, my last apartment had the same set-up and it was only about half as loud. I think this is worth mentioning for those who have sensory issues. The heating unit in the living room is extremely frustrating to use. It runs off a bluetooth signal and repeatedly drops it. I ended up having to leave the thermostat on the windowsill next to the unit in order for it to work. My only living room window wouldnt open or close properly since day 1 of moving in. I put a request in writing for it to be fixed four times and asked about it verbally another 5 to 6 times, then finally just gave up. BUILDING SECURITY AND PACKAGES: I appreciate that a building needs to be secure - and absolutely a fob or code should be required to enter the building - but the building is fob only. You cannot enter the building, the stairs, the elevator, or the laundry room without a fob and you cannot buzz anyone in. The most infuriating aspect of this set-up is the inability to receive packages. All packages are delivered to the office and you can only get them during office hours. I cant tell you the number of times I got calls from confused delivery drivers and found my packages dropped in random places. There is a mailroom but it can only be accessed with a manager's fob, making it completely useless. I moved from a building in SE Portland (definitely not as safe an area as here) and yet every delivery driver and resident had 24/7 access to the mailroom. The bottom line: These are beautiful apartments at a great price - but in my opinion no amount of cheap rent and uncaring management is worth risking your sanity and peace of mind over. I was never more relieved to leave a place in my life.

Hate leaving this review because the office is very kind. Mario is also very thoughtful. My mother lives here and the amount of noise coming from the upstairs neighbor is truly atrocious. We have lived in several apartment buildings and none have had noise like this - children screaming and crying running across the floor, things being dropped, furniture moving - at all hours. Well past midnight. The response from the office was that my mom should call the police and there was nothing they could do about it. You want me to involve the police instead of giving the family a warning? I would rather not involve police over something that the apartment should be handling. Police involvement is not always the answer. Mail delivery: The amount of packages my mom and aunt have missed out on because the delivery drivers cant make it in the building to deliver. This honestly feels like a legal issue. They cant get their meds or other important items bc the building office staff is gone for the day? That is not common practice for apartment buildings. Please figure out the mailroom, there needs to be a safe secure way for deliveries to be made after hours. This is more for residents but please pick up after your dogs. There is an unhealthy amount of dog poop on the grounds from LARGE dogs.
