I cant say enough good things about VCA. Had an emergency on a Sunday a year ago, they got us in (its important to know that walk in animal ERs have all but gone away in Portland). Staff was quick, friendly, thorough and informative. Feels weird to recommend a place that I hope to never have to see again, but if you have an animal emergency, call vca, they are awesome!

My wife and have had to put down our beloved Great Pyrenes, Capone last week. VCA Southeast Portland Animal Hospital helped us through the most difficult grieving process and allowed us the compassion we truly needed. Extremely respectful and professional team members. I am so glad that they were there for us. There after hours emergency allowed us to give our Capone of 17 years a peaceful goodbye. They placed us in a private room and provided Capone with some medicine that allowed him to be calm and pain free and let us say good bye to our best friend with out trying to make us move or rushing us. I cannot say enough about this staff and how they handled our situation. I hope that the community can see what I saw last week with amount of help, guidance and passion they have for animals. Thank you for making such a difficult situation more bearable for our family. We are lost with our Capone but we know you helped him pass that rainbow bridge with dignity and pain free.

I took a stay, that I named Buddy in that I have been feeding for about 10 yrs. In 2016 I retired and he came around even more. He wouldn't come in the house and did hiss sometimes and even swiped at me. I made a nice bed in the garage and he then came all the time. For over two weeks he became lethargic and had obvious injuries. He had been injured about 5 times from another cat through the years. He would never let me touch the injuries. I knew he was in bad shape, so I took him to the SE Animal Hospital to be euthanized, it was the best thing for him. I couldn't watch so I trusted them. They called MCAS and they now have him!! He's stressed and in worse shape do to being caged. I can't believe this was done. You guys can't be trusted. I'm now more upset than I was. He's not adoptable. I can't believe this was done. People don't trust this Animal Hospital. The Dr even said Buddy was 5 yrs old!! I had him for over 10 yrs!!! Worst place ever. Now, 16 days of pain and extreme stress, the shelter finally euthanized my boy. Do not trust this place. I'm heartbroken for what Buddy had to go through and would of taken him somewhere else.

Was told over the phone to come right in. Walked through the doors 45 minutes later and they were "all full". Perhaps they could have taken my name and saved a spot over the phone before I drove in?
