Shelter Solutions turned our odd sized garage and upper floor into an accessible ADU right at the start of COVID. Even though material costs jumped through the roof (pun intended) they didnt bill the materials at the new, shocking prices and instead tried to help us keep costs down so we could finish the project within our budget despite the unforeseen rise. We are forever grateful and confident in the workmanship as they communicated with us every step of the way.

Shelter Solutions was a great choice for our ADU project. We toured several ADUs before deciding to hire Shelter Solutions. They have thought of everything. They handled all of the permits, change requests, etc. Their attention to detail created a beautiful home with quality that will last for years to come. I would hire them again a 100 times over. Two years ago, we started thinking about moving from upstate NY to Portland OR to be with family. Shelter Solutions guided us through the process: 1) giving us a tour to see what living in an ADU felt like, 2) figuring out what we really wanted and designing it and 3) choosing everything that went into the construction and final look of our home. From 3000 miles away! Joe Robertson, Keely Montgomery and Jake Ray ( and associated suppliers) were patient and knowledgeable and always available, as we navigated leaving a big old house for a small new one on the other side of the country. The result is nothing short of amazing: 800 square feet of flexible, airy, comfortable, beautiful home we love. Shelter Solutions gave us everything we wanted and more. This is truly custom building.
