It's a great mountain view and the perfect spot to stargaze. It's sad to see all the burned trees but nature is making a come back.

Like the elk cove trail, there is a lot of burn scan and therefore, lots of sun exposure. Unlike the elk cove trail there are ample spots along this route that allow for refilling and cooling off (don't forget your water treatment) The trail has a few spots that require you to leave the path and return due to blow down from the dead trees. Nothing very difficult. Great spot for huckleberry picking about half way up. Enjoy!

Great trail here that you can use to get to Barrett Spur but there are lots of obstacles.
