Dr. O'Connell was very crass. If I tried to clarify what he meant by a question he would condisendingly state he was asking me for MY answer. Yet when I would give him a personal explanation he would also cut me off and snap that he had asked for only a specific answer. I felt confused, triggered, and unheard for the majority of our session. He kept insisting either I'm clearly not effected by my disability OR my kids must be in danger in my care. He doesn't seem to realize that even people with disabilities are human. I CAN be both greatly effected by my illnesses AND be a good mom who works through those disabilities with my children.

In my opinion, Mr. O'Connell should not be allowed to practice psychotherapy. I found his office dark and depressing. He spent an hour with me asking questions that stirred up deep traumatic experiences from my past, then he allowed me to leave his office with no follow up or concern whatsoever. He seems to be a hard hearted soul with little or no compassion for the pain or suffering of others. Do NOT go to see this man under any circumstances!

I will not go in to detail like Kassandra.  I have had nearly the same experience.  Visiting this therapist was one of the worst experiences of my life.  I wouldn't recommend him, obviously.
