Back Savers Moving

I wanted to make this post to warn others of my family's bad experience with Back Savers Moving. We were quoted $300 and charged $1500 (+ tip)... and they never even finished the job!! We called to schedule and informed them of EVERY piece of furniture and appliance we own, as well as a chicken coop the size of a small shed. All of our other belongings were boxed and ready to be loaded prior to their arrival. They originally said it would be 2-3 truckloads and done within 4-6 hours, which would be around $300. The reality: They took 2 1/2 truckloads to our new place and said they would return the next morning to get the chicken coop, tv, and a few other items (which would have easily fit in with the 1/2 full load they brought over last). We agreed even knowing that it would cost us each one more day off of work and a fine from our landlord for not getting out in time. Guess who never returned the next day or even called us? So we called the office to check in and see where they were. We were told the guys were out on another job and hadn't told the office that they needed to finish our move, as in we weren't on the books anymore and considered a finished job. They said they'd have to call us back in an hour or two after touching base with the guys who helped us the day prior. No return call for THREE more days... Well it was technically a text not even a call, sent to us at 10 pm, saying they could come move the coop/other items at 11 that same night. Who schedules movers to show up at 11 pm at night?? At this point we had already moved the rest of our stuff on our own the day before, after paying two more days of late fees to the landlord and 2 days (on top of original so 3 total instead of 1) taken away from work. Absolutely ridiculous to not hear anything back for 3 days after they were supposed to come back, then text us at 10 at night, just weird overall. The bill ended up at $1500 instead of $300, or anywhere near $300. I understand an estimate is just an estimate, but to us it seemed like an intentional lowball offer was given to us to get us to book with them. We used them one other time besides this time, and sadly they chipped some rather large chunks out of 3 differnet pieces of my furniture. Overall, they were very unprofessional in a multitude of ways, and I would NEVER use their services again. I thought others should be aware of their unscrupulous business practices so they don't get taken advantage of like we did.

These guys showed up on time and ready to work. They had all the right stuff to protect even our fragile antique furniture. They were super accommodating and happily fulfilled all of our moving day requests. The only thing that I would do different would be to do less myself and let them do more. Money well spent!
