Staff is always friendly. I have a complex drink order and its usually right. However, even though I often order ahead from my phone, about 20% of the time they forget or screw up an element. Sometimes the coffee tastes burnt. The inside is ok, very plain, but usually tables are available. The tables often need to be wiped down. They removed the items from the condiment station, so you have to ask for items like sugar and half/half. Since they are always busy I find this obnoxious. I go less than I used to, its just not the same. I personally think Starbucks understaffs to increase corporate profits over customer and staff care. The people working there are always hustling to keep up, but it seems like its impossible for them to stay on top of drink orders while also attending to lobby needs, in-person customer needs, and the bathrooms. This feels like a pattern, its not unique to this Starbucks.

Let me preface this review by saying that I am one of the best starbucks customers out there. I have been going to starbucks nearly every day in more than 50 countries for more than 30 years and even worked for them back in the early 90s in Washington. I have probably spent $100k at Starbucks in my life and don't feel bad about it. I feel like I have a pretty respectable point of view when it comes to reviewing stores. Starbucks has changed. We all know that. What was once about creating an inviting, homey interior where people lingered and talked is now handly any different than any other bustling mainstream fast food chain. In this aspect, I feel like Starbucks has lost its culture, its identity, its clientele who actually care to know a thing or two about coffee and its preparation. But such are the times. It's all about convenience now, no soul. It's no wonder this generation is so frustrated. But I digress. The specifics of this review concern my personal experience with this store. Like many stores these days, when you walk in, you are automatically put in the back of a line, the last priority after all the many drive-thru and online orders being received. This is a constant annoyance, of course, but on my most recent visit, I was undeterred, and actually set foot in the restaurant and ordered at the counter to what I imagine was the surprise of many employees. I placed my order, left the biggest tip they probably got all day, as is my custom (I understand minimum wage) and waited. And waited. The drink was called first, which I guess is a practice I don't fully understand because why make someone come back to the counter repeatedly every time one aspect of their order is complete? The food didn't arrive for another few minutes at least but I never said anything until I was asked by the batista if I was waiting on something. I told her yes and she said they were busy, despite not a single person being in the store the whole time I was there. This, and her snide remark about "don't let it ruin your day" were frustrating to me because I was not unhappy, I was probably just lost in thought, remembering the times when things were different. It was totally uncalled for. It's hard to go into a store these days. It honestly feels like they are saying why even bother coming in? You know? It's all pick up your online order and get out. Don't talk to us. Your presence makes more work for us. Etc, etc. Perhaps it is too harsh of me to critique the store like this when it is as much a critique of culture at large, but I felt the need to mention that if Starbucks continues to embrace this path then everything they have worked hard to achieve in the business will be watered down and washed away. Without an identity there is no way forward. They aren't going to out-McDonalds McDonalds, so why try? Be what got you there. 1045am Dec 17, 2023
