Matatena Montessori Preschool

Great place! I am extremely grateful for finding this hidden gem. My kiddo enjoyed going to Matatena very much. Mrs Flor is an amazing teacher who fosters positive, fun and nurturing environment. My daughter learned so much there, became so independent and well prepared for kindergarten over the 2 years of attending. Highly recommend.

I will be always be thankful for the three years my daughter attended Matatena Montessori. The moment you walk in, you get the feeling this is a place where you child will feel at home and will be well-cared from. The place is bright, open and furnished kid-sized (not always the case with home care). Add to this the beauties of the Montessori methodology for teaching and you have a winning combination. There, she learned skills that have made her into the confident, independent little person she is today. They will continuously update you on your child's progress and new skills, which keeps you up-to-date without having to become a "helicopter parent". I can't remember a single time when they would be closed (even through some snow days), which is a great plus if you are a working parent. When my daughter was finally ready for kindergarten, she had such a smooth transition, something I will always be thankful with Matatena Montessori for.

I cant say enough about how happy we are to have found this gem of a home-based school for our youngest daughter. The school itself is lovely. Set in a quiet neighborhood, the classroom is inviting and cheerful and the open backyard has plenty of space for playing and running, but the biggest draw for us has been the instructors. Flor, the owner has a gift for working with children. She was quick to observe and assess what our daughter needed in order to help her adjust to a structured environment. With patience, consistency, and caring attentiveness our little one is literally blossoming. She has made strides in her ability to do more independently and has started bringing that awareness home, which has made our home routines much easier:) Assistant instructor, Julianys warm and joyful attitude is also a pleasure to have in the school, and the music and Spanish language are added bonuses. Leaving ones child in the care of others can feel like a difficult decision but at Matatena I feel that my child is in the best hands, and even better than that, I feel that the school is partnering with me to support the growth and best interest of my child and that is a very good feeling to have as a parent.
