Always a fun place to take a nice walk and observe wildlife. Kids can expend some energy, see many different birds and plants and spark some good conversations. Restrooms: Inside the visitor center.

Update 04/03/2024: Oregon Ash Trail including viewing deck closed. -Good place for bird watching. We have seen bald eagles, osprey, kingfishers, beaver, garter snakes, rabbits, turtles, frogs, carp, nutria and a variety of waterfowl and songbirds. Free paved parking. Trails are clean and well maintained. Trail surfaces include dirt, gravel, mowed vegetation and chipped wood. Subject to flooding in some areas. Trails are well marked with maps and directional signs at intersections. Benches are available on some of the trails. Restroom in parking lot has a pit toilet and needs attention. Restrooms are available inside the Education Center when open. Dogs are not allowed.

It's an underrated, fantastic Portland area nature park, wonderful to spot plenty of wildlife of all kinds. From Nutria, Muskrats, Coons, Opossums, Squirrels, to Snakes, Lizards, Frogs, and of course plenty of birds as well. For a nice, peaceful, easy short hike, it's perfect. The only knock I have for it is the lack of any terrain variation.
