We moved into a house with a large, muddy, overgrown yard that looked very sad 6 months out of the year, and looked out-of-control the other 6 months. Joshua consulted with us to get a sense of what we were after: A surprise tropical paradise under redwoods, with bright greens throughout the year. And he delivered! He redesigned the grading of our yard to give us a large outdoor dining patio, and used lumber reclaimed from our old fence to build a beautiful step-down into the rest of the yard. He created mutiple unique areas of interest: zones of sun-loving grasses, a grove of prehistoric-looking tetrapanix, a mossy, fern-filled gully, and included beautiful native plants everywhere so the birds and the bees would be happy. I have seen many of Joshs gardens both in New York and Portland, Oregon. I think he is great because his designs have a comfortable flow, and really fun unexpected surprises. I have seen gardens where he has made different levels and shapes to add interest and movement.

Josh completely refigured my pond area. He removed overgrown shrubs and replanted with foliage that was not only more appropriate for the soil and weather conditions but also varied in color and texture. Even now in mid January, the plants look good and I can't wait for spring when everything starts blooming again
