Ive used R&B for 20 years. Great team to work with. Excellent work at great prices. Really busy so it sometimes takes a while for a callback but they always deliver. Ive never had a reason to go anywhere else!

These guys are awesome! Very accommodating and super efficient! They removed a 50+ foot, and several others, maple tree and instead of whacking into bits they left longer sections that I was able to make into planks for shelving and mantles! Thanks guys!

From the get go, our first experience with R&B was amazing! During our estimate they were thorough, completely explained their recommendations, and answered all of my questions. I have never owned property before, so this was my first experience with a tree service and I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised and absolutely impressed by all of the work they performed. All of our trees look amazing!!

Review of R&B Tree Services of Forest Grove OR Brett is very friendly and personable, hes a great salesman in that regard. However the entire experience was like dealing with the absent minded professor and pretty frustrating. Communication is lacking in a significant way. We wanted to hold off work at one of our other properties and focus on the primary residence and that intent was communicated to Brett. Several weeks later a bill arrived in the mail - they went ahead and did that work before we had our budget ready for that expense! For the $1000 we had to suddenly come up with, the trees out front (they are my main concern) were barely touched (only a few lower limbs were cut away) I couldve done that and the two small trees in back were cut down. Strike one. At the primary residence wed agreed to a specific work plan and cost; realizing that it would basically take an entire day - the crew got here about 0900 and was gone by 1400 (equates to 4hrs work since this time period overlaps lunch). They brought the wrong size tree cable to bind our oak tree which is bifurcating and therefore did no work at all on it (not even the thinning or trimming as discussed with Brett at our initial visit and arrangement) - this was nearly 4 weeks ago and they havent been back. We got 3 bills in the mail for this job in the meantime and it wasnt even finished yet. Furthermore, on two separate occasions Brett called and we made plans for his crew to come out and finish the work - twice he bailed on us; no-call/no-show/no idea what was going on. Both those times Id coordinated with our neighbor for the intrusion as the tree overlaps into their yard. A huge strike two. About 9 days ago I called the office and explained why we werent going to pay the bill (they didnt finish the job or fill their end of the arrangement). The lady assured me Brett was supposed to have contacted me and that shed put another bug in his ear. An entire week passed. Today is Monday and he finally called me this morning around 0800 asking if a crew could come out in an hour. We discussed the work to be done; tree cable and thinning the tree. He denied agreeing to any thinning work, but when pressed he indicated the crew would remove some heavy branches (not the scope of the tree care we were led to believe would occur per our initial conversation). Im at the point where I dont care anymore, I just want them done and gone - they wont be coming back. Strike three. On my part in hindsight, a written contract/estimate should have been demanded by myself. Typically a no-brainer, I realize that. Even today, when Brett finally called and sent a crew out, what Brett and I talked about (removing some of the limbs of the oak tree and installing the tree cable) was not the same story the crew had; the crew was wondering where to install the cable and what branches needed to be removed. I reminded them theyre the tree experts - not me and to call Brett for clarification before doing any work. The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing. Game over. So I have no idea what were actually going to end up with. I just know were not going to ever be using R&B Tree Service again nor can we in good conscience recommend them to our friends! If any of you know a reliable and reasonable arborist who is willing to stand by what they say - please have them contact me.
