The staff were always courteous. Hold times on phone were minimal. But they put a price on someone's life. Do not use this service if you want to stay alive. I had someone who needed their services desperately, but because there was an issue with insurance, that I was in the process of resolving they refused to make the appointment for the procedure she needed. Now it is too late for her. So if you value yourself or your loved ones life do not use this provider.

I recently had a bone biopsy performed by this group. They are amazing, professional, kind, compassionate, and wonderful to work with. My experience could not have been better. They turned a very frightening sounding procedure into something I could manage easily. The procedure was done by Dr. Garbett and his two amazing nurses. It was done efficiently and after the procedure was done, I had no pain and discomfort. Everyone responds differently of course, but my experience was amazing. Three days out and still no pain or soreness. I highly recommend this practice and the team I had was five stars for sure.

Pros: Less invasive that surgery Cons -Office staff unresponsive or unable to verify concerns or admit mistakes -Multiple paperwork issues and incorrect procedures noted -On-call postop number failed 2 out of 3 times it was used -No post-op communication and no follow up with the operating dr -Out-of-network for insurance and therefore expensive I was referred by my Urologist Dr. Essrig for an ablative removal of a mass on my left kidney. (ie tumor) The initial consultation went smoothly and we discussed a cryo-ablative procedure as well as concerns my urologist and oncologist had with regard to minimizing damage done to my ureter. Dr. Isuani agreed with the concern for ureter damage and noted that he would ensure a catheter was placed prior to the procedure and a warm saline solution would be used to prevent damage from the cryoablation. I received calls from Dr. Isuanis staff first to schedule the procedure and second to confirm the labs were completed. On both occasions I confirmed that the catheter would be in place and my concerns were noted. On the day of the surgery, in pre-op it was confirmed that no arrangements had been made for the catheter and some paperwork showed a thermal ablation while other paperwork showed a cryo-ablation procedure. I was literally changing into my gown when I confirmed they didnt have the proper equipment and procedure set. The surgery was required to be rescheduled. The next week I spoke with the same office staff as the prior times and a new time was scheduled out six weeks later. They refused to accept that they had made a mistake despite my attempts to confirm that the additional safety measure of the catheter was in place. Fast forward 6 weeks to December 18th I was asked to come in at 5 AM for the catheter placement and I would remain under anesthesia until after the ablation was complete. In PreOp and in the 6-7 calls I received from the hospital it was determined that there was paper work for the placement of the catheter as well as a cryoablation, but additionally something called a pylo-effusion. This was again a mistake with the paperwork from Minimally Invasive. I developed a post surgical UTI over the weekend (in 2 days) and it took 3 attempts to get their on-call number to answer. I received no post procedure contact checking in on how I was doing or advising me how the procedure went, from Minimally Invasive. When I called and asked to speak with the Dr, I was told it would have to wait until my PostOp follow up 11 days after surgery. The Dr wasn't available for my post op and I haven't heard from him again. It was over a month later that I found out from my referring Dr that the labs came back and the tumor was benign. Minimally Invasive had these same results and did not contact me. Conclusion: I understand with it being 2020 that people are under a lot of stress and that mistakes are bound to happen, but I expect that the person who made them will admit the issue and resolve to fix it. No responsibility was taken and because of the specialty service being offered I was unable to find an alternative for this procedure and because the new year (and new insurance) was coming up I resolved to deal with it as best I could. Suggestions: -Please be sure you can advocate for yourself or have someone who can do this for you. -Make sure to check the paperwork and the procedure names carefully. -If youre not sure, ASK. If your still not sure do not give your consent. -Talk with your Dr about going elsewhere. Paying 1st world prices for 3rd world medicine isn't something I expected to have to deal with in 2020 Update August 2021: Ive reduced my rating to a single star. I have numbness and slight nerve pain radiating from the procedure point. 18 inches down my leg and 6 inches up my back. Not terrible but not something I was expecting to be dealing with.
