Sylvia Emory, MD

I went to see Dr Sylvia Emory for hormone issues and hoping to get some kind of hormone replacement therapy. Instead she told me there was no HRT outside of birth control. She discounted my personal opinion and experiences, offering only birth control. So I went and found a place that specializes in HRT. My insurance covers it but when I asked Dr Emory for a referral, she refused. She is over arching in her opinions and obviously closed minded about medical symptoms that dont easily fit into her classifications. As an adult who has been experiencing exhaustion, fatigue and muscle weakness every month at the same time, I am disgusted with her lack of respect for my beliefs, my awareness of my body and my decision to seek alternative care. She is literally acting as an impediment to receiving the help I need.

Dr. Emory is retiring but has been my physician for over 20 years and I felt compelled to review after reading the misguided and uninformed opinion above. Dr Emory is professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and attentive. She delivered my daughter 21 years ago and had also been her doctor throughout her life. Her advice and referrals are based on sound medical knowledge and experience. Im not surprised she would not be convinced to recommend unproven or sham treatments. She has too much integrity. I have to find a new Doctor since she is retiring but am fortunate to have been a patient for all these years.
