Heather Hansen-Dispenza, MD

Dr. Hansen was a God send. When my symptoms began, my PCP was not able to diagnose the problem, so I was referred to several different specialists, who after running tests, could also not diagnose my symptoms. A friend, who was being treated by Dr. Hansen, recommended her to me. She was quickly able to diagnose my symptoms as systemic diffuse scleroderma. She referred me to OHSU for further testing and confirmation of the diagnosis. My diagnosis was confirmed as a rapidly advancing form of the disease that was affecting my skin and internal organs. The prognosis was rather bleak. However, Dr. Hanson refused to accept the situation we were facing, and recommended a unique (for my diagnosis) treatment plan using infusion therapy. Without her knowledge and professional expertise, and thinking outside-the-box of conventinal medicine, the outcome would have been very different for me. Though my recovery was a process, I am back to leading an active, normal lifestyle, and enjoying outdoor and athletic pursuits without restrictions. Dr. Hansen is a very compassionate, understanding, and dedicated professional who is an advocate for her patients care and best interests.

Dr. Hansen-Dispenza is a smart and caring physician who I trust. Its obvious she is an expert in her field. I always feel better after seeing her.

Dr Hansen is the best doctor I have had in my 58 years. She and her staff are top notch. She has even seen me on her vacation when I was seriously ill. I have always felt valued. St Charles is lucky to have her. I am so blessed to be her patient. In 1994 I was misdiagnosed by another doctor. That doctor treated me for years for Systematic Lupus. It was Dr Hansen that discovered it was Sarcoidosis and in my opinion SAVED MY LIFE. For that I will be eternally grateful.
