As a person deeply vested in measurable outcomes for therapy, I am much impressed with the quality of care provided by Laura Forest, Victoria Petersen and "the herd." Their approach and practice is evidence based and thoroughly worth the investment. Your health and heart will be much better for the time spent in this safe, rejuvenating process. On top of all of this, it is also fun!

As someone with experience in equine and therapeutic matters, I had my reservations about what I could possible gain from a horse guided therapy workshop. And yet, my professional curiosity about equine assisted psychotherapy and the like brought me to sign up as a participant in one of Discovery with Horses weekend programs. There is no possible way I could have anticipated the profound and lasting impact the workshop has had on my life. I am deeply grateful for the experience. I believe part of the magic of Discovery with Horses is found in the mystery of what they offer. So, without giving away too many details, here is a brief list of what I appreciated so deeply about that weekend: -group work. I have led numerous group therapy type sessions and classes, but have never been a participant. I was afraid to be vulnerable in front of others. Fairly quickly, the scene was set for trust and connection, and I now cant imagine reaping the same benefits of the workshop without the collective spirit of the group. I learned as much about myself from witnessing others experiences as I did from my own time with the horses. -Victoria Peterson guided us with humility, professionalism, kindness, and expertise as we interacted with the horses. Victoria reads and connects with horses in a truly unique and beautiful way, and her presence allowed me to feel completely safe, cared for, and empowered. -Laura Forest brought her intuitive soul to the workshop in full force, and thank goodness for that! Laura had the most beautiful way of challenging each participant to examin their own hearts. She never let anyone out to dry, never opened us up to a point of rawness we could not return from. But she did push us, ask us, dare us to look deeper. What a gift! -The friendship Laura and Victoria have allowed the weekend to operate smoothly and was a boon to be in the presence of! I aspire to have friendships with other women that are equally supportive and caring. -Those horses. Each brave and beautiful equine reflected back to us women exactly what we needed to see. I am grateful for their grace and spirit, for their understanding that goes deeper than what we as humans may ever hope to know. Well, I suppose that wasnt a very brief list. It was an incredible weekend! Its hard to not shout that from the mountain tops. I recommend a Discovery with Horses workshop to any person who feels stuck, lost, hopeless, or wanting. You will get what you need. It may not be what you were looking for, but it will be what you need.

Laura and Victoria are amazing facilitators and horse whisperers! My experience attending the Reclaiming Passion, Heart, and Connection workshop truly goes beyond words. The activities and interaction with the horses left me with a profound sense of self discovery and acceptance. The group discussions encouraged us all to open to our true inner selves. The opportunity to participate in a workshop with Discovery With Horses kind of just fell into my lap and ended up being one of the best experiences I've had in I don't know how long. There is something magical about getting to spend time with horses and it is hard to adequately describe. The facilitators Laura and Victoria were wonderful guides along the way. I have nearly zero experience with horses and their guidance and expertise left me feeling perfectly safe and capable of interacting with these wonderful creatures. I was in a group of about 8 women and found that this type of work tends to call people with a like mindedness, all in search of deeper connection and self awareness. The women I was lucky enough to spend these three days with were warm, inquisitive, introspective, open, wonderful women and I enjoyed every bit of this experience.
