We asked for a side of Parmesan cheese with our entrees and they flat out said no.

Pricey! The restaurant requires $15/person to make a reservation! Pasta was undercooked.

This restaurant is fantastic and well needed in Bend. It has an approachable atmosphere but a high class menu. We went and had a great 4 course dinner with my wife and daughter. Being in Bend this was her first experience of something like that. Every item on the menu (both the first and 2nd time we went) was tasty. As an Italian I appreciate the quality, imported ingredients, going beyond the usual menu, and representing food from every part of Italy. Drinks both on and off menu were great. Tasty desert. I will for sure be going back.

I visited the restaurant for the first time a little over two weeks ago with my partner for a celebration dinner. We were greeted by a very kind, sweet hostess and seated promptly. After sitting and chatting for a few minutes a shadow loomed over us and we heard "What are we drinking?!" No greeting. No introduction. No "Welcome!". A bit off-putting but we ordered some wine which was easily some of the best wine I have ever tested. We ordered the Gorgonzola Salad to start, which was fine. Nothing to write home about, especially for the price point. The biggest bummer was that we found a piece of foil in the salad and one of the beets had the root tip attached. We let our server know and she responded with "Oh, that came from these cheese. I'll go back and fire someone." She offered no form of sincere apology or display any sense of professionalism. We ordered the Bolognese next. The pasta was tasty as was the sauce. It was a bit on the greasy side but otherwise had great flavor. We let our server know that we were full and planned to finish our last glass of wine. She came back 15 minutes later and asked if we wanted dessert and we let her know that we were good, to which she responded "Well, enjoy your wine then" in the most condescending tone. I first thought I misread her tone but after she walked away my partner stated "Wow, that was really rude!" She brought our check , we paid the bill and left feeling underwhelmed by our entire experience. What's sad is that the other servers taking care of adjacent tables were great. I should also note that the restaurant had many open tables, as we came in around 4:30 in the afternoon. TLDR - Great wine, decent food, awful service.
