I haven't even received the tools for my class yet, but wanted to point out how ridiculous it is to pay $40 to ship items to a town three hours down I-5. Really? It's obvious that the kit is overpriced, but to turn around and gouge people on shipping as well? I'm thankful that I'm not having it shipped overseas; that shipping cost was $196. Come on...

If I could give them a 0, I would. This company is a bunch of crooks who take advantage of students. Their products are way overpriced and have a terrible return policy. Students cant afford their machines; but are forced to get them for classes and if the school changes up material after youve bought the machine already, the students just have to bite the bullet on the $500+ machine they just bought. This company is terrible.

Origin:After twelve years as a high school physics and physical science teacher, during which he developed applications to enable his students to observe streams of real time data, Dave Vernier co-founded Vernier Software and Technology with his wife Christine four decades ago. Now known as Vernier Science Education, these roots remain evident today in the intuitive product design, attentive customer service, and support for practicing science educators. Experience:This support is exemplified by the evening event Dave and Christine arranged for high school, two year college, and university educators during the American Association of Physics Teachers conference held in nearby Portland. Coach buses were arranged for transport conference-weary attendees, despite easy access to public transportation. We were invited to a catered dinner that was complimented by local beer and wine. Tours of the corporate office included demonstrations, a visit to the collection of computers that were popularly used by universities and K-12 schools over the years, and a ride down the slide (we were told in advance to wear slide-appropriate attire (-:).Before we left we each received a Vernier mug that is temperature sensitive and a gift certificate. In addition, employees were asked to locate functioning, but older model sensors, which guests were invited to add to their lab collection. I had opportunity to directly thank Dave for his support for science educators, for this event, but also for sponsoring an annual $4000 award for science teachers.
