Hodgie Construction

Had a decent experience to start but it fell apart. Communication was terrible with exception of Marcia. I asked to have a mini split installed and they did so. What I asked was if that would provide whole home heating and AC because I was concerned it wouldn't. Being that I don't have experience with them I trusted Hodgies word and learned that was the wrong thing to do. When I raised I asked them to work through how to resolve our issues it took weeks to get them out and they had no solution. Provided a few options but ignored that their Eirik did not meet my request. I requested a mini split, but requested also while home comfort, if a mini split wasn't going to do the job they should've told me that and we could've talked about other options. It's been a year since it's been installed. Last I heard from them was that they would get back to me soon. That was in December and here we are almost in March. I have decided to drop all other projects with Hodgie and move to other contractors. I do not recommend them if you are not already working with them. And even then, be concerned.

December 2020. Surprised to have a really different experience. There was a huge lack of communication. Recommend getting a very clear proposal including material, labor, and percent of overhead/ profit expected before work begins. Being on site during work was a plus. Jt I have worked with a lot of contractors on the homes ive lived in. I really cherish the honest, hardworking, innovative , caring, creative, ones ive found. This is that kind of outfit. Be ready for Gary Hodgie to smile, do a schrunchy face, smile again and then say "well here's another thought" when you tell him about your half baked idea. He will suggest something that looks great and wont break you. Also be ready to learn your idea wont work! But Gary can do some amazing stuff. Its fun to dream with him about what could be. They will work with you on costs, like agreeing to do the demo, but its best to plan ahead and pay when the job is done. I really like tha you get to choose local retail rather than big box for materials. Last but not least Marcia is fantastic with scheduling. Service: Install flooring
