Watch out for these fake interviews! They gotta get it over FAST! Because why waste time with something that isn't real!? Interviewer was super nervous. They'll ask what you do for fun, but nothing about your previous jobs or experience, and 5 minutes later, it ends with "we have other candidates to interview and we will make a decision in 2-3 days" - because they have no intention of hiring anyone! I know HR language. They already have someone they're going to hire.... but they have to run thru candidates super fast, so everything looks legit.

My wife and I contracted to purchase a property in July 2018 and deposited the earnest money with what was then, Guaranty Abstract, at 59th & Yale. The seller backed out of the transaction and his attorney sent us a letter notifying us that her client was canceling the sale. We contacted Guaranty to request the return of our earnest money deposit and sent them a copy of the letter from the seller's attorney., The letter wasn't good enough for them so over the next year and a half Guaranty's attorney, as well as our own attorney, attempted multiple times to get the seller's attorney to sign a Release of Contract but the seller's attorney never did. I kept contacting Guaranty Abstract requesting the return of our earnest money deposit but they refused to issue the refund until they received the Release of Contract from the seller's attorney. In July of 2019, Guaranty Abstract sold its business to another company and Guaranty Title was formed. This set us back a bit as we had to find a new contact and start the process over but we kept at it. After a lot of back and forth and Guaranty Title attempting to get a Release of Contract again from the seller's attorney (the seller is now deceased), we finally received approval in early July 2020 for the earnest money deposit to be refunded. We've been waiting to receive it and haven't so I contacted Guaranty Title a couple of days ago to find out what the hold up was. Yesterday I received an email stating that they were searching to find out what happened to my earnest money deposit when the former Guaranty Abstract was sold last year. Today I received call stating that we would not be receiving a refund of our earnest money deposit. The reason given was that the money was not transferred from Guaranty Abstract to Guaranty Title when the business transition happened. If that is correct, which I doubt, why didn't someone tell me last July? I was told that some accounts with earnest money deposits were transferred when Guaranty Abstract was sold but my account was not transferred. You don't tell someone you're going to refund their money and then back out because you can't find their money (their story). That's bad business!! We aren't happy. As a matter of fact, we're furious! I've spent a great deal of time attempting to get our earnest money deposit back over the past two years. I wonder how many other people have had the same thing happen to them? How many just gave up? That's not how you do business! With what we've had to go through, Guaranty Title should have offered to refund our earnest money deposit no matter whether it was transferred in the transition or not because they had already promised to. They are basically the same company since they bought the other one and pretty much kept the same name. Based on our experience with this transaction, we believe the new Guaranty Title is an unethical company and should not be used by anyone to close their transaction. Buyer and seller BEWARE!! There are better companies in Tulsa for you to close your residential or commercial transaction with. Would you want to lose your earnest money deposit or spend two years trying to get it back if one of the parties backs out of the transaction? Don't trust them! They refused to return our $500 earnest money deposit. Imagine if it was $5,000 or $50,000!
