I went back to school at age 50. The Nursing instructors and support staff are the best of the best. The Nursing program is top notch. The program can be challenging at times but the staff will get you through the intense moments. You will be more than prepared to pass the NCLEX. I would highly recommend the program.

Josiah- 16 year old graduate. I took the Introduction to Electricity class with Lester Leaks. I did learn a lot about electricity , but the environment with the instructor was very intense and unprofessional. We were given eight classes, Four hours each. Classes WERE supposed to start at 5:30 P.M-9:30 P.M. Lester Leak started each class at 6 PM and then required all students to leave the school property by 9 PM. We lost a total of 8 hours of education because Lester wasn't prepared at the beginning of class and then wanted to be done by 9 pm. If anyone was waiting for a ride and they showed up past 9 pm, Lester became very angry. I paid $259 for this class and didn't recieve all of the required hours. Everyone in the class was frustrated and we all knew to tread lightly around Lester because he was always in a foul mood. I made sure to be very respectful and pay attention constantly. I always cleaned up my area as soon as I finished the job. I have no idea why Lester took out his frustration on me. I was the top of the class every week...meaning I finished any assignment before the other students. I rarely got an answer wrong. I feel like I worked hard in this class. I made sure to thank Lester on many occasions for teaching me. Lester never mentioned any issues he had with me or other students during the time i was in class. I have morals and work hard to not curse and to always be respectful. On one of the occasions, Lester told us " you guys can have a 5 minute break, if you want to." I didn't need a break so I kept working. The next thing I know...Lester yells "Josiah get your butt in here!" Last thing I knew was we were on break. I guess Lester changed his mind and decided to head back to the classroom to teach something else. Lester is very knowledgeable about electricity but has no patience with his students. When he would check someone's work and they got it wrong, he would humiliate them by making all of the students come see what mistakes were made. We did call Willie Ng, who is ahead of the adult programs. We inform him of what is happening. Majority of the response was defending Lester Leaks behavior because "that's just how Lester is." We mentioned the 8 hours lost and he said nothing can be done. On week 8, my parents and I spoke to Lester at the end of class. On the last class it started at 6:10 and ended at 8:30 pm. When my parents spoke to Lester, he was very upset that we had complained to his boss. He took no responsibility for any of his actions. When my mom mentioned how he yelled at me, Lester said he didn't want me in the back for safety reasons. We agreed that is reasonable but Lester never told me I couldn't be back there without him. I've seen several of the guys back there on their own. If he would of communicated that with me then I would have respected that and always made sure I was not back there without him. If only Willie Ng would call the other students from the same class and ask them how they thought the class went. One the last class, almost every student left between 1-3 hours before th class was over. The whole class agreed there was no point finishing the class. Needless to say the frustration was high! My certificate says I completed 32 hours but in reality we only completed 24 hours. Lester offered for us all to pay for 2 additional classes. We all talked about it when Lester left the room. Everyone was in agreement that it wasn't worth our time. Why should we pay for 2 more classes, when you owe us 8 hours of education? I learned alot but I would never recommend Lester Leaks for an instructor. I hope he treats any of his future students with more respect and has more patience.
