Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ponca City, an IHG Hotel

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Ponca City was quite a contrast to the equally priced hotel I stayed at the night before. Found the exterior paint on building unappealing. Interior was also dimly lit from lack of regular sunlight & fixtures. Front counter does not present a sharp image. However the day clerk was friendly & checked me in before 0300pm. Room 118 on first floor did not have very much appeal, nevertheless it was was clean & comfortable. Because of the long 600 mile trip ahead did not wait for breakfast to be served at 6 o'clock .

Good hotel as expected. We rarely have issues at IHGs.

We had an incident with where we were staying originally and needed a room asap. We get there at almost 2 am and the front desk lady was so NICE and hospitable. She even helped us save with the app and extended our checkout time due to how late we were getting in. The room was spotless and barely heard any noise throughout the night.

For the price this place has trash outside in flower pots or trashcans whatever they are that are full of water and trash all in surrounding grass areas. Outdoor entrances are not cleaned properly. Stained bedding and towels. Found a dead roach smashed on the headboard. Horrible attitude and fowl language from workers, loud obnoxious and inappropriate conversations that can be heard throughout first floor from front desk and laundry room. Maintenance does jobs throughout hotel and leaves messes that are an eyesore. Employees eating food that is meant for guest. Doorway entrance to my room had black smudge of filth that wasn't mopped properly. Will go elsewhere next time!
