Today I decided to take a big step and buy my first new vehicle. I have been on the search for the perfect vehicle for a few weeks and finally set my heart on a brand new 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 that I found at Windy Chevrolet. I was so excited that I called immediately. After two days of talking back and forth with about 4 different people I decided to make the two- and half-hour drive to pick it up. They said that the financing was locked in and I would just have to come sign for it. I asked numerous times to talk specifics and only got the response, “We have it all set and looks good.” After a less than lovely drive on the rough roads of Oklahoma for what felt like an eternity we arrive at the dealership. I was greeted almost immediately by the extremely nice sales person they call Michael. We have small talk that is always involved while the finance guy is having what looked like a four person employee frat chit chat in his office. Once the congregation cleared and my salesperson was able to get a word in, I waited. He came back and said, “I know we haven’t talked about price yet but here are the specifics.” The vehicle was posted on two different sites at the same price. There should have been no discussion from my point of view. His price was $7,000 more that posted online. I was shocked and obviously disappointed. I hadn’t travelled almost 3 hours for a price $7,000 higher than what was posted on their website. I showed the salesperson the online price on my phone and he went away to see what he could do. This is where things get comical. The salesperson walks back up to me and says, “Sir, can I see your Cosco card”, I must have given him a look that I hadn’t had on my face in a very long time and said “what?”. He preceded to tell me that the discounting on the vehicle was only for current Cosco members. So here I am; mind blown, frustrated, simply confused. I had been talking to four or five different people over the span of two days trying to get this deal figured out with financing ready to go by the time I got there so I could sign papers and leave. I was assured it was all taken care of. I expected to pay the price listed on their own website, not to mention autotrader. Yes the terms were posted on the listing at the bottom. I take blame for not reading every word. Anyone shopping for a car right now knows that when a price is listed and there is a discount, most listings show what they are for. The posts for this dealership are misleading and their employees and management do nothing but exacerbate this issue but providing zero communication prior to the buy process. I suppose the game plan is to do anything to get people in the door. To my utmost surprise, the new dealership owner of 3 weeks text me after I left you try to understand why I left without the vehicle I came for. I told him my story of missing out on a $7000 discount due to not having a Costco card. He offered to send me a gift card to a chevy dealership with a value of $125 for the inconvenience of my 5 hour round trip. Thank you Greg Freeman for saying, “Thank you for the opportunity” and “I’m sorry again”. Those messages were taken to heart. This dealership’s business practices are garbage and I would say that the heartfelt Greg Freeman has a lot to learn but it seems he’s also been involved with: Hawkinson Nissan/Kia – GM Lithia Motors – Platform Director Ted Moore Auto Group – GM Set Wadley Auto Group – Sales Manager

They got to my vehicle quickly and completed the servce in a timely manner. All of the personnel that I encountered were friendly and courteous. My experience with Windy Chevrolet was a good one. It was what a person would expect of a dealership that is trying to establish a clientele and make money.
