I went to Mr James for assistance with DPS. He met with me for an hour. He offered to reach out to his contacts within DPS to try to right things as quickly as possible. He advised he was very professionally connected with several of my higher ups and coworkers.
James never got back with me. I called four times after meeting with him. After the meeting things at DPS got worse. I ended up winning in Merit pro se against DPS's council. The rest of the issues are still being processed by the EEOC, or in a Whistleblower statement I made to the Govenor via investigation.
I cannot help but wonder why he didn't get back to me on such an obviously winnable case (I mean, I won part of it alone and EEOC has made many moves that are looking like potential for a class action. Plus attorney's fee's for this kind of case are set seperately and rather large in order to incentivize attorneys to take these cases that cost a bit to head.)
On the not professional: On top of never returning my call, when I met with him he was in a long sleeve button up white shirt and shorts/sandels. This might have been due to an injury it looked like he had, so I could over look it... if it wasn't for this part. He fell asleep several times while I was talking to him in his office. I am not disparaging his reputation, he has done amazing work for OHP Troopers. However my experience happened and it should be noted for those who might use his services in the future.
This meeting occured during the last few weeks of August. I will give him credit for one part. The first few times I called to get an appointment he didn't return my calls. I showed up on crutches. He took two hours out of his time to listen to my issues.
