Candlewood Suites Muskogee, an IHG Hotel

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I have called and spoke with corporate in regaurds to my issue with desk staff. Randall, who is not the general manager took it upon himself to rudely interrupt me as I was at the gazebo cooking on the grill and relaxing after a hard weeks work. Randall turned the grill off as I had steaks cooking and told me I was not allowed to have a beer in the patio. I stay at IHG hotels all the time as I travel for work, and never have I been told I could not have beer while cooking. I asked to speak with the manager and Randall proceeded to tell me he would call the cops. Mind you I was not drunk or being a disturbance, I was grilling and relaxing. I immediately called corporate whi was also unable to get in touch with the general manager. I finished cooking my food and enjoying my evening. The next day I went out to the smoking area, was having a beer and a cigarette. No one approached or spoke to me. An hour later cops were knocking on my door telling me I had to leave. Cop was nice and professional but as Oklahoma passed a new law, because cops were called I had to leave. Turns out Randall called the cops because I was minding my own business drinking a beer outside. There are no signs anywhere on hotel premises stating no alcohol beverages allowed. I called corporate once again and they were again unable to reach the general manager. IHG corporate issued my refund and set me up at the Holiday Inn across the street. Skip the candlewood and book with Holiday Inn.
