Juila Dorty went beyond the call of duty to insure I received proper medication. She is thorough and pleasant to talk with.

I dont do all this review stuff so this is my first! Let me be the first to say, I have never had a primary care doctor who I would go to with my problems and concerns, I would always just choose a primary care doctor for referral needs and whatever else to that extent. When I was referred to Dority, I was told how good she was and that she would do good with someone like myself to be able to trust to see her regularly. And I would be lying if I said that I didn't agree. I would personally brag on her and was there for over three years. (Which says a lot). Until today, I have had some womanly issues, (like we all do), that's nothing embarrassing for someone like me either. Embarrassment doesn't come easily for me. So as I was there I took my samples, did our normal routine. No big deal. Until I was told by Dority to take my sample to the lab myself. Which in all reality, a person like me is okay with helping out if they were to be busy or something to that affect. Today, I was the only one in there and was kind of embarrassed to do that, (since I've never had to carry my own sample), so I asked her, "I even carry it to the lab myself"? And she said, "Yes, and to sign your papers." So I said okay. When I had gotten done, the nurse had asked me why I didn't leave the cup in the bathroom and if I was okay to take it by myself. I told her no problem and that I would do so. She proceeded to thank me. (I have been at Apts with kids since early this morning and running everywhere so with two kids getting anxious and ready to go, I was okay to get it done myself to be able to leave). AT FIRST, until I got around the corner to the lab and was holding my sample in my hand and even the lab and registration didn't know what was going on after I had to stand there in front of the lobby patients and workers until they figured it out. So, as anyone would, I got a little embarrassed since chasing kids and holding this private stuff. I decided to ask what was wrong and asked if this was normal or not and they both told me no, they have never had anyone carry their own sample down before, just sign their papers. I then was in shock, why me? And I had no idea.. after it was all said and done, I decided to ask the woman in Doritys office at the desk if it was normal, (since I had been told no already twice), and she replied, "Oh yeah, since someone like you walks as fast as you do, I just wasn't able to call and give them a heads up in time". So I just smiled and told her how I didn't appreciate it very much. Especially since I was the only one who was ever made to do it. I also called my children's doctors office and explained my situation and was told it was not a normal thing and the nurse is supposed to carry the sample herself. Which remind you, she did try stopping me and asked as I was walking out with it. So I do thank the nurse and wish I would have gotten her name so I could brag on her from now on instead. Bottom line is, I always felt good there until this nonchalant event happened to me and have no idea, why me? I actually trusted Dority to the extent of staying there as long and pretty frequent visits, which I have never done in my 30 years. Now I understand a couple of statements and looks that had been given through my time and they most likely weren't what should've just been let to roll off my back. Maybe if I would have received the hint a little sooner, I would've avoided this nonchalant embarrassment and "misunderstandings". Like I have said, a person, doctor, I thought I was able to finally trust. You're supposed to be able to do that with your doctors right?? Now, back to being a skeptical patient. Greatly appreciate that!
