I'd give a lower rating, there is none. Re: Jones Monument. My parents bought a monument in 2011; my father died that year. . Jones Monument Company wrote on contract quoting "$90.00 to put date of death on stone." I have the contract. My mother died March 13, 2022. In July 2022, I contacted Jones Monument to have the date of death of my mother put on my parent's stone. In July 2022, I contacted Mrs. Crowdis (owner) at Jones Monument about having the death date added. That I had the receipt showing I'd only owe $90.00 to have this done. Mrs. Crowdis found Jones's copy, agreed the $90.00 was stated on the receipt but that it shouldn't have been and gas prices were now so high they'd have to pay the contractor they used to etch death dates the difference, the price to have that service done at today's prices was $130.00. I talked with my husband, we agreed the additional $40.00 was fair as COVID-19, soaring gas prices and other economic factors warranted paying the difference. I wanted the date put on my mom's stone. Unreasonable? July 2022, I paid Mrs. Crowdis the amount she quoted to have the contractor add the date. She stated the contractor's crew did a circuit of area cemeteries, they had just done stones in Fairlawn, Comanche OK where my parents are buried. It would be three months before they went there again. Early October: I drove to check on the job I believed would have been done by then. Again, no date. I called Mrs. Crowdis asking why it wasn't. The reason she gave was they were waiting on a filter for one of their machines. (Note: In July I'd been told they used an independent contractor.) I wondered why they'd need a filter on *their machine* if they didn't do that job. December 1, 2022, checked stone again. NO DATE YET. I phoned to ask Mrs. Crowdis "Why the date wasn't on the stone yet?" She stated that I had told her I was going to get my money back from them because the date wasn't on the stone in July." That is completely untrue. Dec. 1, 2022, I spoke with City of Duncan cemetery department offices. "They'd had many complaints about Jones Monument. They *did not* use any outside contractors, one of their own employees added the dates!" Jones Monument is holding my money for a job still to be done; Mrs. Crowdis has told me untrue things about their [questionable] business practices. I been told, and realize, MR. Crowdis has memory issues (Alzheimers) but he's at the business daily. This must surely create stress for Mrs. Crowdis, their employees, I've personally overheard other customers complaining about unresolved monument issues, in addition to Mrs. Crowdis making excuses for her poor business practices.
