image I planned a corporate golf outing at this course and we had an excellent experience. We were a group of 28 golfers and 2 non-golfing organizers (myself included).
Our 28 golfers remarked that this course is very difficult and that, due to this, the pace of play for a standard game is around 4 hours and 10 minutes.
This course requires a group of at least 40 for a "shotgun start" style event -- as our group was smaller, we did staggered tee times wherein we had one foursome tee off every 9 minutes. We organized these groups and times and the course implemented them on our behalf -- the bag drop attendants were provided a list of our guests as well and checked with us once all of our guests arrived.
The bag drop is conveniently located between the parking area and the cart area -- this was a very nice touch for our guests whose bags were valeted to and from their vehicles and carts almost seamlessly.
There were plenty of attendants in the pro shop and near the practice areas.
We had one very inexperienced golfer who needed some extra help with her cart and the staff were gracious and kind in their work to support her.
The beverage cart service was attentive and thorough.
We selected a bag lunch for our golfers which the course had prepped and waiting in the "half to go bar" which, as the cart path goes, is between holes 9 and 10. The food was delicious, held to proper temperature, and served with ample condiments, plasticware, and napkins -- anyone whose hosted these events on a 90 degree day (as this one was), can tell you that this is quite an accomplishment.
I hope to bring our group back here in the future.

image Took customers out to play FRGC about a week ago on a Friday. Haven't been out here in a while but noticed rates are nearly $100 now which is roughly 25% higher than I recall. Tee time was at 9:48. Grabbed the coolers off the carts and headed into the bar area around 9:30. No one was in the bar area nor the restaurant so had to search for someone to help me. Took nearly 25 minutes which got us off to a late start. They switched the front and back 9's since the last time I played out here. Not sure how this benefits anything or any one? If you haven't played out here before, the new #1 & #2 (formerly #10 & #11) are not easy holes. So, unless you are a sub-10 handicap, you will likely get off to a slow start on these holes. Saw the beverage cart on #2 but we were set so didn't need anything. We didn't see the beverage cart again until #17. After #3 is when the frustration began. Before I say anything else, there wasn't one time where we were holding up the group behind us all day long. However, we were told twice on the front 9 to speed up and saw the Marshall lurking about 50 yards back on 5 of the holes on the front as if we were being monitored. We felt so much pressure we didn't feel as though we had enough time to stop for refills, bathroom break, or lunch at the turn so we kept on. Marshall picked up the harassment by the time we made it to our tee shot on #10. Marshall proceeded to pressure us on #13 & #14. When we arrived at #16 tee, we were asked to skip to #17 because we were behind schedule. Since there was no group in sight behind us, we refused to skip to #17. We were asked to leave, which we also refused to leave. Then were told they were going to call the police since we refused. Yep, you read that correctly. We were threatened with the police because we were behind their computer system schedule. We weren't intoxicated, we weren't being obnoxious, we weren't being disrespectful to any of the patrons, staff, or the course. Yet they were going to call the police? Doesn't make sense. We continued and finished our round...no police ever showed up. I have never felt so unwelcomed at a golf course in my life. I was embarrassed in front of my customers, but more embarrassed for the incredibly terrible customer service displayed by the FRGC staff. Absolutely deplorable to the point I will never return to this course. Even worse, I sent a lengthy email to the course President, GM, and course manager detailing the issues and never even received a response. It is unfortunate because the course was in great shape which is the only reason why I gave them one star even though for this price, the course should be in top shape. FRGC has a lot of work to do to match the quality of the course to the level of customer service that it should demand and you would expect at nearly $100 per round. Save your money and go somewhere else.
