Highly recommend this BnB. Everything was fantastic. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The host was amazing. She made us feel like family. You will not be sorry if you choose to stay here, you will be, if you don't.

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful. This property is beautiful, unique and comforting! We stayed in the Pretty Woman Suite which was elegantly decorated and had an amazing bathroom. Jana was very gracious and accommodating. We would absolutely stay again when we are in the area again! Thank you for an memorable stay!

Simply outstanding! What a charming little Bed and Breakfast Inn. All of the rooms are themed after movies or TV shows. The location is perfect. Super close to Shangri La Resort and golf courses and Grand Lake. Wonderful, friendly proprietor. We had a blast and can't wait to come back!

October 2023 Afton, OK - The Funky Monkey Inn, so named for being on Grand Lake's Monkey Island, transports guests into a place like no other. Entering the large white home with wrap around porches was jaw dropping. It's like one of those fantasy movies where a character opens an average door on one side only to find a whole different land behind it revealed. I gushed to my partner, "Look at this!" Exotic jungle designs, fur rugs, rich colors, expensive leather seating, fabricss, heavy carved wood, antique lamps and mirrors decorated a main room it would take a film set designer some time to create. A big stone fireplace is the focal point of the area, though it was still too early in October for a fire to be crackling. Monkey themed accessories abound. The owner, who was not there and in a neighboring town, gave us the combinations to the front door as well as our own room from the security gate and told us to make ourselves at home. Our only disappointment here was we did not get the room we requested. The owner explained over the phone that two women were staying here and they each took a room by the one we chose, so she did not see why we should all be in the same part of the house when other rooms were available. She did offer the room we'd reserved but took her advice as the one she gave us was bigger and better with its own private porch. It was beautifully decorated, just not us. Still, a lovely room, and only one of two here at this bed and breakfast with a King sized bed. On her return to the Inn, she gave us a tour of the rooms except for one that was occupied. Seeing the room we had intended to stay in, we did realize that this was the one that appealed to us in terms of theme and its beautiful tufted leather sleigh bed. The Inn has everything except a pool. There is a huge media room on the lower level for guests to watch TV or movies; a large gaming table space for real poker enthusiasts; or in case of emergency, a certified safety space whenever a tornado warning is issued. We liked the real size Elvis who commands one corner. This is such a unique and worthwhile experience. Absolutely worth a stay if you're visiting Grand Lake, attending an event at the nearby Shangri-La resort and it's booked out or you want something different, or if you've never been here at all. The owner and host is really nice, conversational, helpful and totally respectful of people's privacy. There was a nice breakfast in the morning for guests - fresh fruit, pastries and an egg casserole. Location wise it's right down the road from many access points to the enormous and magnificent Grand Lake, a few restaurants, golf courses, and places of interest to visit. We do wish we could have stayed longer.
