I once received a traffic ticket and reported here to pay my fine (I was 16, juvenile court) Once in front of the judge, he informed me of the fine and told me that the citation would be taken care of upon payment and sent me on my way.. I went to the clerk, handed over my cash and left driving privileges in tact.. 6 months later I was pulled over and told that my license had been suspended due to failure of payment on the previous ticket. This started a lovely series of events that included a large reinstatement fee, a 4yr SR-22 insurance bond and countless additional traffic stops to ensure I was obeying the rules.. The courts admitted that it was an error on their part, but because it took 6+ months for the mistake to be realized, there was nothing they could do and left me to pay the fees and jump through hoops to get my license back and clear.. Money is all they are concerned about, safety, wellbeing and serving the community are not priorities. If you can avoid Wayne county when commiting traffic offenses or minor crimes, do so at all costs.. Once you're in their pocket they like to keep you there as long as possible.
