Let me start by saying that Mr. Richner and his assistant seem like nice people. This is not a personal attack.Mr. Richner was contracted by my FIL to prepare his estate. He paid upfront for this preparation. When my FIL passed, we began the probate process. It was THEN (after we paid for the filing of probate, which was unnecessary but certainly beneficial to Mr. Richner) determined that due to the oversight of a very simple matter on my FIL's bank account (the name of a brother who was not executor appeared on a bank account from years prior), the estate had no funds. Probate was not needed at all, and all my FIL's efforts to make his passing easier were wasted because Mr. Richner did not ask whose names were on my FIL's bank accounts.The point of using a lawyer rather than a software product is to have someone who knows what questions to ask. Mr. Richner is a completer of forms, not an advisor. He benefitted from his incompetence to the tune of nearly $2,000. Worse, he seriously complicated what is already a difficult season in a family's life. Take your estate needs elsewhere.
