The June

We booked The June for our wedding 8 months prior to our date. 8 weeks before our wedding, Hilary, the owner, told us we would no longer be able to have our wedding at The June. We were told the city and state closed it down until further notice, due to it not being up to building code. We had visited The June several times to check the progress, as they were doing some small drywall work and painting. Hilary assured us that everything would be completed before our wedding date. Hilary never once told us that while all of this was going on, that she had been dealing with constraints from the city for the past couple of months. I didn't find this out until she cancelled our event and told me this through an email, not even a phone call!!! Instead of being transparent with us and admitting this had been going on, Hilary swept it under the rug and went about things as if nothing was going on. Had Hilary been upfront and honest, we would have been able to check on other venue availability. Not to mention, Hilary had been hosting events at The June as late as March, with no problem. We now know Hilary was having these events in a building that was not adhering to city and state fire and building codes. We feel Hilary was extremely negligent in handling our situation, and want to warn others who are anticipating using this venue in the future. We also know they own The Concord Room. Beware!
